  1. yeah i dont like to think of people killing them out of season if you do keep it to yourself
  2. I know for a fact that alot of the proffesional dogs are used just as triallers, alot do not participate in a basic shooting day, I know Nic "drummuir" does, but I am sure she will vouch that alot of the dogs just do trialling. I think its a huge shame but thats the way it is, hopefully she will comment on the subject! regards RS that can be true with some trialers i know someone who took his open trial dog heavily picking up one season and then it was ruined for the trialing season. but saying this if you can stay on top of the dog it shouldnt be a problem how much you take them out
  3. yh lol i thought that mate
  4. Hypoglycemia isnt in just trial dogs though can be in any it shouldnt be considered in this discussion if his dog has hypoglycemia then if he wants to show his dogs ability in a field trial than fair play to him. trial dogs arent just used for trials then locked in a kennel till the next trial there used as beaters pickers up ect these dogs have great stamina just because a run in a trial isnt as long as a whole day working doesnt mean they cant work a whole day because that would be a waste of a great worker and they need as much experience in the field as they can get to develop there abilit
  5. yh leave them to hang with the guts for a few days then either gut them and roast them but we just usually have the breasts off
  6. if they doing well on JWB then why change them out for a days ferreting ill give them rabbit but otherwise im not gonna give them meat there housing right outside my front door and there pretty clean on it dont want them to smell to much.
  7. I wasnt like having a go or anything mate but a dogs stamina depends on how often its worked does it matter if its trial bred or keeper bred its down to how often the dog is out. are dogs trial every season and there out every day when on a shoot day the trial dogs look more impressive than anything else its down to owner input not breeding however the trial bred are more looked into for style and other important aspect of dogs ability.
  8. soz when i say biscuit i mean like dried pet biscuit (kibble) i get it from pets at home it has all the vitamins and nutrients they need
  9. mine are just on biscuit and there doing well on it. what do you think if there doing well on it then you be the judge at least if you've got them on biscuit there shits dont stink
  10. i dont know what trialing dogs you've seen welshboy but trialing dogs are good workers.... just as good as any other its not neceserily down to the breeding its upto the dog look at FTCH Jade of livermere its pedigree was near to blank when it came to ftw or ftch next to its name you just never know what your going to get thrown. i know alot of trialing people and they have to put alot of effort into their dogs ... there worked alot how would they get to trialing standard if they were not?
  11. starting pistols are relatively cheap thats what we use when training with a dummy the more the dog hears it the more it gets use to it it will be nervous of any bang to start with but just getting it use to it gradually.
  12. as long as your on top of it (training wise) then trial bred all my dogs are trial bred just because it is what i have grown up with but for just general beating then the non trial breeds can be just as use full
  13. my mate has one i dont know much about it myself but he seems to get on with it

  17. if he doesnt find it painfull anymore then id just leave it to sort itself out vets can end up being expensive.... but if he is still in pain with it after a week its worth a trip to the vets. but if the dog isnt in pain then leave it. its probs just the average swelling
  18. If all you had left in your life was poetry and I bashed you in the head with a rock, thus damaging your brain to the point you could never again muster a natural sonnet, what would you have left to live for? Now imagine that you’re a dog and it’s your genitals. Now you might just understand the benefits of Dog Condoms™ over neutering. LMFAO
