I need a core of around 8, this accounts for workers for 2 days a week, plus up and coming and the old uns. Yes they cost a fortune, and the young uns love to bite, but they are part of the team, even the old one's that will see there life out with me!
  5. 3/4 russel.. 1/4 lakeland That dog has to be one in a million! Does it work well?

  11. Cheers Tomo, yep he only had around 18" of tube to go at, the bunnie was just like a plug wedged in there.Think it would have been terminal! Always collared up, without it he'd be a gonner!
  12. Shattered now Frank, we only usually have 1ft digs! Was going to take the terrier out for a day tommorow, but think i'll give it a swerve now, and put my feet up tonight!
  13. Looks like the kits were happy with the bag at the end! We just leave the mixy's for the crows, poor buggers. One or two seem to get over it though, and they are let go if not too injured after retreival!
  14. Out today as every weekend, old Brimmer seems to have a new lease of life with these young dogs, and has been pestering me all week to try and get a day off! All started out well, the longnet placed in an awkward spot, but covered 4 warrens in 1 stretch. We had 24 bunnies by 11 oclock then disaster struck! Yes it reads 7ft! After half an hour, it had moved 2ft across, with 1 or 2 more kills. Only one thing for it! Only one of this years ferrets as well, he was well and truly trapped! Got to the quiet knocking sound on the locater (thank god and finally broke through!) Pulled out a we
  15. Looks like it's been in the wars that one! Van Goch the rabbit!
  16. Crikey! Looks like a bad weekend for rabbits! Have a good weekend fella's and post up your bag piccies! We all like to see them!
  17. Plenty will do the job, just finding the better out of the plenty is the key! Lots of terrier types are good, look towards the proven rather than the breed or the crosses. Making a dog counts for a lot as well, but don't waist time on nothings.
  18. Best thing the BBC has churned out in ages and now he's gone? http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=5sLRLhwnuGo
  19. This Thread just keeps getting better and better, Keep up the good work! I don't know a lot about whippet's but this is fascinating reading!
  20. would any one shoot anyone if they were stealing their dogs No i'd rather kill em with me bare fists!
  21. One of my younguns from this year got a bug of some sort, terrible squits, and weight loss. A bit special feeding gave him his strength and appetite back (he got all the livers and some tinned dog food) and he's rolling again! Glad to hear Sids back on the prowl!
  22. Cannot vote as i've never tried the mark 3 set up, still got a couple of working mk 2's and a few collars doing the job well. Anybody that has used them both, which do you think is the best? Will be getting a mk3 as soon as the old one's pack in, are they a step forward?
  23. Thanks for keeping the forum open Ian, the site is a great place! After only being a member for 2 weeks, I felt like i'd lost my right hand when I tried to log on last night! Glad all that sent emails had an impact, I'd really miss this place if it were gone forever! :clapping:
  24. Another way is stick them under an upturned bucket for 5 mins on a flag floor with a brick on the bucket. The claws are usually scratched off in no time with them trying to get out!
