  1. If the vets never done that op before make sure you, (A) stress to him it's definitely a vasectomy you want for him and not castration (I've heard of this happening on more than one occasion!!) ( Ask that he removes a tiny section of the tube and doesn't just snip through them. The vet I used as done loads of this type of op and always suggests leaving them 6-8 weeks before putting them in with the jills. Cheers OBE
  2. Brilliant little clip mate, and as others have said the makings of a good team there. Cheers OBE
  3. That's all that matters , they're a credit to you Jules. Strong healthy lookin kits. Cheers OBE
  4. You could try using a tin of luncheon meat and flavouring it. If the carp are feeding on the surface bread or dog biscuits might be worth a try. Cheers OBE

  6. There is and there isn't !!!, I can think of two very well known tackle suppliers that use exactly the same rod blank for one of their "spod" rods and one of their "Sea" rods they just put different graphics and rings on the blanks. Cheers OBE
  7. Some cracking fish there mate, those Perch were in really condition and well coloured Cheers OBE
  8. I don't know how far it is from where you are mate but there's the River Wye and the River Severn that both hold a good head of decent Chub. For big Chub you can't beat big smelly baits...Blue cheese, lamprey sections or strips of Mackeral all work really well for finding the better fish. Cheers OBE
  9. Those floats are brilliant mate, nothing quite beats catching fish on tackle you've made your self....You've got me thinking now, I was going to buy a few crow quill avon floats for the start of the river season but I'm going have a go at making a couple Cheers OBE

  13. Surely you must have heard of having a spring clean? LOL Seriously though, mine are all guzzling cleavers (goosegrass) and young shoots of couch grass at the moment: do it every spring: some gets vomited back up and some goes right through the dog. I've been feeding mine stewed nettles recently and I've noticed they don't eat grass etc when I'm giving them stewed nettles, so although a dog's system can't utilise raw whole vegetation it must be doing them some good or they wouldn't be doing it. Agree about binding the bile to vomit though>makes sense. Excuse my ignorance S

  16. A coupe of nghts ago I managed to get out for the first carp fishing session of the season. Due to the recent warm weather me and a mate decided we'd go and see if we could catch any off the surface with floating baits. The plan was to travel light and have a mooch round the lake stalking any feeding fish, the changing wind made it difficult as it kept blowing the floating free offerings we fired out all over the place and not tight up against the features in the lake like the reed beds and under trees where the feeding carp tend to stay on this venue. The first area I tried was in th
  17. I used source boilies a few seasons back for Barbel and had some really good results. Cheers OBE

  19. If you've just cut the the silver birch you'll have to wait nearer 18 mths before the sticks seasoned properly. The sap in silver birches is well and truly rising now, hence the longer time to season them. Cheers OBE
  20. You are just north of us I think it will come good this year - damn poor last year. I'm just up the road from you mate and the blackthorn hegdes are covered with blossom at the moment....I hope it's better year for the sloes than last year, that was very disappointing. Cheers OBE
  21. Kay....They are the same in everything but name. A "weed" is a flower, i personally don't really use that term. "Wild flowers" is much more accurate......IMO...JD Lol, totally agree..a weed is just a term for a wildflower growing somewhere it's not wanted !!. Cheers OBE
  22. It all depends on how trusting and settled that particular jill is with her litter, but a week after giving birth is usually a safe time to leave it for most jills. Like I say though it's down to indivdual ferret so just be careful at first. Cheers OBE
