  1. ----- Gotta love the Scottish Bono, lead singer of the rock band U2, is famous throughout the entertainment industry for being more than just a little self-righteous. At a recent U2 concert in Glasgow , Scotland , he asked the audience for total quiet. Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands, once every few seconds. Holding the audience in total silence, he said into the microphone, 'Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies.' A voice with a broad Scottish accent from the front of the crowd pierced the quiet... 'Well, foockin stop doin' it
  2. Daniel, Fine looking dogs. That male should be a monster by the time he's two.I see you got the hang of the ol' Photobucket.Good deal craig
  3. Smellydog, Sorry if I took you wrong,I guess I'm just used to lots of the folks who want to take cracks like they know it all.I only know about MY dogs.Sorry, craig Lahosh, The "so-called" peds as you say????Let me state for you, cause I guess I'm an idiot, but what I DO know is that the only dog you can be sure of how they are bred, are the ones you breed yourself,or the ones you were present at the time of breeding(and that is assuming the dogs you are seeing hadn't gotten bred before or after your "witnessing" of the mating took place with another).I have seen a man breed to his hardcore k
  4. Smellydog, I can only assume you are reffering to my post.I guarantee you that my dogs can and will be culled in the drop of a hat.I in NO way said that they are the best, etc. We have a large group of folks who work together to hunt them.If they don't make the grade, they don't make the trip home.If I see the need to add something,I will in a heartbeat.I have more than a few dogs amongst us,of different lines.I was only giving the man who asked about inbreeding my opinion. So you are right,I will keep my dogs.I guess it's true, just about every post somebody makes, will have at least one person t
  5. Madmouse, I agree.I'm no expert for sure, but I think we breed our dogs as tight as anyone, and thank GOD,til now,we have been blessed. As with any breeding, you have to cull, but there have been no setbacks as far as hunting traits lost,or genetic faults.Check out some of our pedigrees and you can see how tight. The dog in my avatar is a bro-sis,off of an uncle to his niece, and the niece's sire was bred to his double bred granddam. And the male "Gravedigger jr" is a hard dog, with a very hard mouth, good nose, and I have loaned him out often and he always does the job.I bred him to his dam,and got ano
  6. How can I get in contact with him, does he have e-mail ? If not, does anyone have pictures of his dogs ? I'm only interested in pedigree dogs with papers, cause we register our litters, so the parents must be registered to. Thx for replying Thorleif I did have an e-mail for him(thru his daugther),but that's been about 3 yrs ago.I'll see if it still works and send it to you if it does. craig
  7. Have you tried J.Doyle of Ireland? He has some very gritty workers craig
  8. Shell, Sorry to hear about your loss.It sucks to lose any dog,but one that is a part of the family is especially hard.Folks can tell from the photos with your baby that it was not just a dog,but part of your family, sorry craig
  9. Too many to list all,but ALL good looking terriers shown here.Nice, rugged dogs craig
  10. Twelsh, Here are a couple of ours: Turk Gravedigger Jr Do you think that collar will hold! has grave digger got an undershot jaw???? just askin Threbb, I only use the collars & chains to take pics,to keep them still. Bftbs, No,Gravedigger Jr actually has a very clean scissor bite, however Turk is undershot. They are both pure Booth breeding craig

  12. Fell Terrier, I am on that board. The board owner,"Barnburner" is a member here.I personally like the board,I've been told by some they DON'T like it,but it has some good stuff. They are good folks, that do a lot of hunting, digging AND barnwork craig fair play bailey is going to vouch for me thanks again craig whats the crack with the pitter pats FellT, I'm not sure what you mean,I have never owned one(yet),but definitely wouldn't mind.Especially if I can find a small enough pit female that I like.I think with the proper dogs involved, they could make some great barnworkers. craig
  13. Dev & Bailey, Sorry for the loss.Congratulations on the hole,and in 3 hrs,at that.Take care craig

  15. Damashaman, I often wonder the same.I was told by a fellow that they are all "Fells",but the name Patterdale stuck, due to a good many coming from the area "Patterdale".Also, that Nuttall's terriers had become almost a type unto themselves, being known for their bully head, smooth coat(mostly)etc. and being neither properly classified as Fells or Patterdales.(I don't know,so if this is not correct, sorry) craig
  16. Duckwing, Good post friend.I completely agree, they either will or won't.It's just entertaining to me,to see what they do,or want to do,as pups. But like the story I told, was proof.I have no doubt, had the female never seen a rat,she would have still made a fine coon dog.Same with the male, had he never been on a rat,he still would have been culled when grown, due to not working out.All the same,it is fun to see the fire & technique pups use on rats. craig
  17. KV I agree a bad experience could surely ruin them. But I don't plan on a nip from a rat doing that, and if a rat bite can cur out a fired up pup,the pup might not going to turn into what I'm after.I'm just talking about simple ratting here, not the big of haul of rats that it would take an experienced dog to tackle.Just simple, fun, stuff for the pups craig
  18. Thanks everyone.I was just curious, and the one person mentioned holding back until older for fox, which is a definite, but I only was talking mice & rats.I've had some wee ones that will jump them right away if they see them.I had a pair a few years back, about 10 weeks old(different breeding). The male was supposed to be from some top notch breeding.I had them in a giant bin we had made up,just for this, about 3 1/2 feet high,10 ft long, and about 4 ft wide. The male, was always shaking hte little female up,roughing her up over food etc.I put him in first. He run up to the rat(these were rats, not
  19. What is the youngest you allow your pups to start on rats?Mice?Do you let your very young pups get mice, and if yes, what age do you allow them to start rats?We let them go very young,as soon as the interest is there.I just wanted to know what others thought, take care craig PS:Not looking to get ragged on,just some plain answers, thanks
  20. Great looking pup.I have seen so many good looking dogs in the UK lately.Good stuff craig
  21. Pip, I forgot to add that a good friend to me here in the States regularly takes his young son out(about the same age as yours)hunting. It's a good bonding experience, and will be something both of you fellows sons can look back on and fondly remember. And GOD willing, will be a positive influence on them when they get older craig
