  1. Lovely looking dog, is it your dog Blake? How does it work, point or straight in and flush?

  4. Hello can anyone recomend a good book on deer? Preferably covering all UK species, their behaviour and stalking them. Thanks
  5. I don't know of any free foreshore shooting in England where you can just roll up and shoot, as far as I am aware you need to get permission for all foreshore shooting in England and Wales. If you call Basc they will give you contact details of your nearest Wildfowling clubs or depending where you live you can PM me and I'll pass it on to my club and they'll give you a call.
  6. I have used a Buttolo to call in does but unfortunately without a Buck in tow (only had for part of last summer). I have been with a guide that used one which was made from wood still in bark with a screw out of the side, it was brilliant watching it work seeing does galloping staight in. Regarding the mineral lick Dicehorn will a one for horses work?
  7. I read a thread where you took a bit of unwarranted flack today.
  8. I'd have the odd one but don't get greedy or do it in their faces.
  9. I am now educated, thanks.
  10. None unfortunately. Lets hope they spread more.
  11. Tyre kickers and ticket turners. A Yorkshireman is like a Scotsman only with all the generosity squeezed out of him.
  12. I know I'm probably asking for it but whats a bump?
  13. It was in the paper that some were spotted in two areas round Sheffield, but you know what papers are like!
  14. I left in 1997 had a great time, the course was alright but not solely gamekeeping it was only a small module. I have heard Newton Rigg is more geared for game keeping. However Bishop has/had a good night life (Beverley and Hull) and loads of girls, so who cares about the course!
  15. [quoThanks guys. Normally if I have to kill a bird or rabbit I push a broad blade through the skull in the lenght. But roe is too big for that and I kind of don't want to poke around in the skull. To cut the throat seems more direct and somehow better than strangeling. te] Why not just break the rabbit/bird's neck?
  16. Duck shooting will be on Kill it, cook it, eat it tonight, it was deer last but missed all but the last 5 mins. BBC 3
  17. Just bought a Swarowski 8x 56 from Greenfields of Salisbury, tried all the above and they were all at around £595 and would not budge, phoned them and got it for £600 with Optilock mounts and bases for £600 delivered, they were here in two days. Lamping.co.uk were selling them at about £500 but never answered an email or answer machine message.
  18. Bought a fake tasco myself from e bay, saw it with about a minute to go so bid on it and won. It was only about £20 so I wasn't too bothered but got the guy thrown off. It looks the part but not fitted it to a rifle yet, I got it for my .243 but it will be going on my .22 when I get round to getting the right alan key. Will keep you posted.
  19. Hello, I have been offered an opportunity to shoot boar, accompanied, in South Wales and it got me wondering to what extent boars have spread through the country and to what extent they are being shot. Hope people can help. Thanks.
  20. Just googled Chinese mentioned above and found a few comments in the reviews about their vermin menu!
  21. Just bought a T8 and it seens Ok but not fired too many round through it yet. However it is shorter than my mate's T8, have they altered the spec recently?
  22. I have just bought one from ronnie sunshine via e bay for about £8 + pp, mine is an 8x56 but it went on if a bit tricky. If you start at the thick end and half turn it inside out you should get it on.
