  1. Cheers, I had been told not to use the second stage before on roe but I didn't know about muntjac, I'll give it a go. Why would you then use the second stage, to delay them if they're running off?
  2. There are two stages on the call, do you use both and is it a long drawn out call or short sharp? Thanks
  3. I know you should have to but there were reports of it happening round me, so now when I'm out a stick an RSPB sticker in the window although not a member myself. On the subject we were on a driven shoot a few years ago when some f**ker keyed five cars parked on the road side while we were on a drive in full view but no one could get back to them in time.
  4. There are loads of Fallow, driving up the M1 between junc 25 to 28 I often see groups of Fallow and the odd Roe. Earlier in the year I also paid to go stalking reds but didn't see anything that time. I have tried to get some stalking but with no luck.
  5. On Thursday I shot a roe buck and butchered it on Friday, as I have had ticks on be before I am always careful when doing this. Then this morning after driving to work I noticed I had one on the inside of my elbow (the same place where I got my other two) I didn't have anything to get it off with a that stage so I left it as it was still only small at this stage. I kept checking it then within a minute it vanished, I stripped off in the toilet but I couldn't find it. Where do these feckers go? As I only went in the car today I can only think it must have made its way from the boot to m
  6. Do you have stalking there or were you with a guide? If you were with a guide what type of money is it? Not after anything big a cull buck would do me. Cheers
  7. I think there are some on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, Bowland Forest and Ribble area possibly.
  8. Done it at last, changed my mind after listening to you all and gone for the 27 incher, same as bullx. Bought it for around £85 from Cammo Supply as long as I don't get hit with tax on import. Greenfields of Salisbury were the best UK prices. Just need it for Friday now, last minute as normal. Thanks for all your help.
  9. Just look to small to me when you compare the height of the track to the size of the cat.
  10. Just thought people may find this interesting. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgo...est/8172064.stm
  11. What does the podlock do? If you get a swivel bipod, which has an adjustment allowing the rifle to be tilted left or right depending on the ground, there's a knurled nut on the bipod which tightens the swivel function holding it in one place. The knurled nut is less than ideal (IMO) for this tightening job. The Podlock if a small handle that replaces the knurled nut, allowing much much easier tightening up of the tilt function Thanks, sounds good
  12. Thanks for all your replys, think I'm going to go for a HBLMS Harris Bipod 9" to 13" with notches and swivel, just haven't had time to have a proper shop round yet. Bought a cheap one last time but it was crap and didn't last two minutes and I could have really done with one last week. Think I'll go down Quicksilver's route though.
  13. I have been selling a bit at work and have been charging £4/lb for leg meet, roe and muntjac. I live at Barnsley and have some in the freezer at the moment so just PM me if you want some.
  14. Hello, does anyone know where to buy harris bipods from, cheap (I'm a Yorkshireman!) either in the UK or abroad? Also what is the differance between the ones with and without the notched legs, apart from the notches? Thanks
  15. I shoot rather than work running dogs, but I totally disagree with what you're saying. Unless a hare is ill I don't think any will die from a heart attack or shock when coursed, they have evolved to evade preditors by running away. Coursing in my opinion is the best way of maintaining a health hare population through natural selection. However as a method of large scale population reduction shooting is more efficiant. In an ideal world it would be one shot one kill but in reality that doesn't happen and seeing wounded hare escaping isn't a nice sight. I have been on hare shoots but now pas
  16. Why not feed the pools to bring in the wild ducks, it will be less hassel and cheaper.
  17. Someone been watching Snatch? I take it you mean the waste. I have only shot roe and muntjac so its not a big problem but it goes in the wheely bin or the skip at work if it has just been emptied. Which I belive is legal to do so.
  18. These are no better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGVBx6im7Lk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41QPxnT9i94...feature=related , especially being 'hunting men' . No reason to let things drag on like this.
  19. I am at the same stage and going to use inner tube strips to attach the rubber, but why do you attach it over the top and not though drilled hole in the Y?
  20. Give him a chance , he's only 12.
  21. Thanks for the replies, but didn't get chance to go fishing. After going stalking at the last minute the day before she wasn't too keen on me fishing on our break aswell. Beautiful part of the country though and the beaches look great, but didn't see anyone fishing while I was there.
  22. Thanks for that I'll give her a try. What were you catching?
  23. Any set ups would be of use. Thanks
