    well it been said what is "hard" as everyone has diff opinions and to them its right each to there own . personally im not into the whole if my dogs not busted to bits its not for me thing which we hav all met im sure. it has got to many people noticed and talked about. i like a dog that i can take out as and when required yea she she gets hurt, but not badly yes she barks , but shes no bolter this doesnt make her any less of a worker as some would say. she is my type of dog she wudnt suit every body but shes dug me plenty . happy hunting

    this is what the last terrier federation tried to achieve. recently when they were a protest march hundreds of terriermen and women surported the hound people against the green partyin the end they got the stag hunting banned.people need to relise its not just about going out in the field and hunting your terrier.the farmer and his stock plus his land has to be protected,this is where insurance comes in to it.everyone would have laugh at you twenty years ago if you said hunting will be banned plus long tail working terriers.personally i wouldnt trust hound people as they sell us out for hound

    personally i keep wheatan /bull/deerhound /greyhound and had few 1/2 wheatans i cudnt fault them but its al about getn stalk that hav been proven whichn isnt easy gud luck

    I appreciate what you are saying but fast dogs have to have good construction or heart. I am sure John is sensible enough to make a decent job of the 'working classes' within the constraints of judging for confirmation. as I say we hope to produce new competitions next year for real 'working dogs. Albertj glad to here it hope it works out

    albert i think what twiggy means is that in the lurcher ring there are classes for lamping and fox etc and i for 1 know that john doesnt work his lurchers so wudnt know much but as u say it is a show and he has won plenty and he deserves the cred for it

    dev ur mate the antis dont want to believe it was a fox and dont want the city folk thinking that the fox wud do this as it would change everything and enable a cull on many urban foxes and maybe change the views of the idiots thats banned it

    i agree wif hogdog and well iv read harcombes book "work them hard treat them like heroes" and although he doesnt really mention it he says if you hav a gene or strain that works then keep it you dont need to outcross this isnt his words but [bANNED TEXT] i made of it and its [bANNED TEXT] i intend to do so it will become line breeding and inbreeding eventually

    couple of wks ago i wrote saying how my wheatan lurcher killed his kennel mate and to add something to it i have 4 pens along my bk garden each wif 2 kennells for those that wer wonderin now last wk i took the lurcher a walk up the road and let him off for a run and he put up a rabbit coursin right up its a**e in to the forest then i heard a yelp and after cuple mins i started to worry as this dog never leavemy side usually so i went lukn for him and cudnt find him after bout 45 min i stopped to take a p*ss and jus noticed him lying there below a fallen tree to say the least i was hear

    well came home from work on friday bout 3 and went upstairs i herd my dog barked so i looked out the window to see what was up. and to be honest i had to look twice as my lurcher dog killed my mates whippet dog and the pen was a mess to say the least. i was shocked as these 2 were kept together for past year as i bred them both and hav been around eachother for 3 yrs stil am gutted it happened heres my dog the

    spot on mate theres no point on holding on to dirt , the less dogs i have the better sumthing thats no gud has to go . i keep lurchers terriers and hounds and a ferret with limited space and plenty of work they need to be 100% atb artful
