  17. when i was regulating the custom rifles, mentioned earlier in this debate! my trademark, on finished rifles, was to buy packs of playing cards, and take the ace of spades, benchshoot at 100yds and blow the centre out with a 5 shot group!, enclose the card in the case. some of the people these mega bucks rifles were built for could'nt hit the sand? remember ITS NOT THE ARROW ITS THE INDIAN

  22. well said, still a shame though!, i've had the oppertunity to visit some of the best moors in yorkshre, and to see the numbers they have, on bolton, alanheads, wimergil, etc is amazing, not like that in scotland! but then, again we have the scenery! i once tried to tell my grandson the difference between rooks and crows, telling him that the rooks could be seen flying in fiocks on watching ,a flock up the hill he said, look grandad thers some now!, no they were all hoodies.!? never seen that when i was a keeper

Bring's back some very happy memories. your going to start us crying again Unfortunately no pic's of the guns only some very old ones taken at a distance with me holding them on the foreshore.
  24. dont be enthralled, to much, by the word custom, hand made etc, i worked as a chief rifle regulator for quite a famous maker! and to be honest some of the hand built stuff i worked on were real pigs! and took a lot of hours to make them shoot? over the years i found a lot of the factory rifles, with the right load would shoot very well. apart from the quality of stocks, barrels, engraving etc on custom guns, they still go bang! once had a medium barelled sako, 53grn win factory ammo would take your eye out at 400 sold it ? realy sensible ? doh oh well got another one
