  1. and once you get a second barrel you wish you have a semi auto..... i realise that a airgun wouldent be suffienct for a fox. would a HMR 17 or 22 be alright for clearing snares?
  2. nice photo. now change the rat into a hedehog or a goldfinch and it woulb be a superb photo.
  3. it just so happens that a farmers market in cardiff near me sells rabbit and pigeon. i asked were they got there meat from and they said somerset. next sunday (i go to the market every sunday) i'll ask there email and then send it to you. they said they needed more pepole gettting rabbits for them but they have got plenty of pigeons as it is all shotgun and rimmy shooting. i will pm if i get some info on sunday. Aaron.
  4. massive thick log (i.e a tree) would stop a 22. rimmy in its tracks and defentenly an airgun pellet.
  5. an fac air rifle (40FTIB) would would be a useful tool for clearing fox snares i think. but obviously it would have to be a straight to head shot.
  6. your cheapest option is a hmr should get a good second hand rifle, mod and scope for £300......amo costs me £8.75 per 50 you will be able to shoot out to 180 yards easily and if its blowing a gale bring your range down to 70 yards ish......fac air rifles are all expensive you would struggle to get a rubbish rifle for £300/400 the only thing theyve got going for them is amo is cheap......hmr will do you well i didnt know HMR were so cheap! as soon as i get an FAC (quite a klong time!) i wont buy an fac air rifle i'll go for a HMR
  7. if its only corvids then an fac air rifle will be fine. most of them are not as expensive as centrefires or rimmys anyway.
  8. yes then sneak up on the rabbit from behind with a bush knife and stab it! Rambo style!
  9. i tend to settle own at 4.30 (that pm by the way) and they usually come out aorund that time.
  10. what is the max you can have on FAC Deker, and also is there a limit to how many SG you can have on SGC? Hughesey i'm so confused i'm GM and dont know a thing about WYTA. WI a SGC and where CIFO. also WI a SG.
  11. as preiviously stated if you cant stalk them just sit down or lie down in a comfy postion about 25 yards away from burrow....oh yeah and be completly still for 15 minutes. once they come out wiat till there about 4 yards from there burrow and shoot. this way if you dont get a completly clean kill and they go a couple of yards before they go down then they wont escape back into there burrows to die.
  12. i like the "underbrush" one. that looks like it would be good for stalking in the snow.
  13. cornish cross hairs, dont make a bad start to the site, practise more as one persons posts were all deleted because he was talking about hitting animals and wounding them. i cant stress how important it is to practise more before you hunt. its horrible and inhumane way for any animal to die so before youre next hunt make sure you can hit on target 4 times out of five to avoid injuring your quarry and it dying slow and painfuly. Ye that makes sense, but a air rifle to a foxes head in a snare should be fine the Aaron. i tried to tell him he needs a bigger gun but he argued back
  14. MAKE THE FENCE PRETTY TALL AS FOXES ARE GOOD JUMPERS
  15. youve got 5 FAC shotgun and 7 shotguns? are the other 7 shotguns not FAC
  16. how do i get writing under every post like this except gray: ................................................................................ helo how do i get this writing permante on every post
  17. i have found i get more rats when i dont bait them. i simply place them in the runs. when i bait them io get a lot of traps snapped off with only the wiskers in or nothing at all and all the bait gone. but when i leave them unbaited but put them in the center of the run i get more rats. anybody else had this?
  18. because there major agricultural pests. and they tatse nice.he did know you could eat woodpigeons but wasnt sure wether to bescause he said they mite have eaten pisen ivy.
  19. I always try to place my chest shots from aside, or in the back, above the wing base. most of the time they drop without a flap Shooting a fac airgun in .177 (18ftlbs) also helps Granted Targa with the right tools for the job you can push the boundrys, but i'm assuming most of the replys are reffering to 12 ft lbs and below, shots from behind and side shots should also do the job cleanly, I was meaning head on chest shots in my first post mate You know the ones where theres a puff of feathers then the bird flies off like nothing happend ( and yes thats the bitter voice of experienc
