  1. But according to the police website.. the only people prohibited from holding a firearm are people who have had prison sentences.. 3 month to 3 years, prohibited for 5 years from date of offence... over 3 years prohibited for life.... Im not in either of them catagories.. So surely that gives some chance....
  2. I think I will have to do that because I have just remembered I genuinely forgot to mention the fixed penalty i recently recieved for using a mobile phone while driving...
  3. Just got this info from BASC guidence notes.. Question 14 For the purpose of the firearms act there is no such thing as a spent conviction. you must include ALL convictions (including ALL motoring offences, wether still recorded on your license or otherwise) wether in britain or abroad. CAUTIONS DO NOT NEED TO BE MENTIONED, BUT CONDITIONAL OR ABSOLUTE DISCHARGES DO) if you have any convictions at any time, including parking or speeding tick the "YES" box....
  4. But it didnt state cautions on the form so i didnt include it.. I wasnt witholding it from them as I know they would find out anyway.. I simply didnt include it as It didnt state cautions.. It just says " have you been CONVICTED of any offence" Like you, i have just recently sent off my shotgun certificate to west yorkshire police. What i did, as i have previous is i payed £10 to west yorkshire police to send me a list of my previous convictions. It came back with the common assault and a drunken disorderly i had years ago, but it didnt have anything else on there, like you i got done
  5. If you have accepted a caution it is classed as an admission of guilt. Yes I understand that, But it is still not a criminal conviction.. Therefore it shouldnt have to be declared on a question asking for convictions.. should they not state "convictions, cautions or warnings" in the question?
  6. As i have stated...... the issue is a CAUTION.............. not a conviction..........

  9. Hi, Just applyed for my certificate with west yorkshire police.. Still waiting to hear from them at the moment, but im a little worried about my previous convictions.. It states "previous convictions" so I didnt declare the caution I recieved about 2 years ago for section 47 assault... I told them i had been convicted of drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a license.. When infact I was charged with driving without license and insurance 3 times.. Will any of these things affect my application? If I mention it when they come round will I be ok or will they be questi

  16. Hi, I live in the west yorkshire area and am wanting to apply for a shotgun certificate.. I currently have no experience with a shotgun, although I am going to have a shooting lesson at the game fair next weekend.. I mainly want it for clay shooting and maybe shooting rabbits, I have a friend with 10 acres of land I can use for shooting when the cows have been taken in for the winter.. Anyone any advice on how to go about applying? Thanks Shaun
  17. Hi guys, I went out pike fishing on the local lake today and also on the canal next to it and didnt catch a thing.. Ive tried on about 5 or 6 occasions and only had 1 small jack pike on the lake and thats it.. I know there is pike there and big ones too as Ive seen them basking in the sun on hot days.. Ive been using an Ondex spinner (the one with the red wool stuff hanging from the hook) as I been told they are good in that canal and lake and thats what I caught the small jack on.. What else could I try? What should I look for to help me locate the pike and when is the best time to ca
