  4. chesil beach is a really good bet mate. always produces cod every year. but my favourite is bristol channel at brean down was fishing there the other weekend and had 4 cod and a few conger in a sesison.
  5. had a session at brean on the bristol channel last week had 4 cod biggest was 5lb. 3 conger and some whiting. should of had more but the rocks kept bumping them off.

Managed to get a week off work this week, so thought i would take my old man out pigeon shooting, upon gettin to the farm the farmer was jus breaking up the field in his tractor after a quick chat he mentioned he was not going to plant any wheat this year which for the past 3 years he has been. this has made for some great pigeon days picking them off as they try to hammer the wheat fields he mentioned he was going to plant some beans for his cattle and to sell as cattle feed. could some one tell me what these beans are firstly?? and if them are goin to bring me pigeons in like the wh
  8. have had 3 trips up the channel in the past 2 weeks mate not a single cod or whiting couple of strap congers nothing else, on the other hand went up to chesil 2 weeks ago and mate had a 9lb cod off there. apparently there is a quite a few coming from the south coast. can only hope they will start showing soon up the channel. outdoors
  9. i was present when my mates dad caught this 19lb cod off chesil beach 13 years ago now. ! thought it was the biggest fish in the world back then. sorry about picture quality came from an old fishing club photo

  11. yea totally agree, yesterday was just to get a indication of how he would react. he still needs alot of work before hes ready to come on a days shooting yet. but the signs look good so far. fingers crossed
  12. always enjoy a bit of bass fishing very nice fish to eat but yea fingers crossed for the cod put a post up of how you got on local you never know what mite come up on the south coast some good fishing to be had. just out of interest what boat you going out on i do a bit of fishing from weymouth my self ? regards Outdoors
  13. took my young springer pup ( 7 months) out yesterday evening for his evening walk round the farm but i thought i would try him with the 4.10 to see how he reacts. i got to admit i was highly surprised he was not phased in the slightest by the sound of the shot and continued to listen to commands i was very please with this. on the other hand i am having problems with him retreiving [bANNED TEXT] he was small he used to have it down to the button. was really good but lately he seems to jus pick the object up and then drop it again it seems like he has to much running through his head at o
  14. had a boat trip out of minehead last week had alot of small whiting but no cod, has any one else had any cod yet this year beach or boat ?? they normally start to show by now out the bristol channel but have not heard much yet about them. regatds outdoors
