  2. DD, im probably not the person to ask as im an asparagus newbie myself. I do know that they require a good well manured trench to sit them in though. I dug my trench ,put a good dose of manure and compost in, mixed it up, left it a bit then planted my crowns and covered with compost and soil. As you said a good amount of well rotted manure, and compost and the bed needs to be weed free, like as weed free as physically possible. I always sieve the stones out too. I have found that too soft a ground like sandy soil isn't the best, the best soil that I have found is non stoney, well dr

  7. That is a cracking bit of artwork, be very proud of yourself Joe
  8. Just because they are breeding where you are, doesn't mean they are breeding near him, or maybe he wants to keep permission and ferrets till it just isn't possible anymore. Rabbits are the master of survival, you will NEVER be able to wipe out the rabbits, maybe thin them but never get rid of totally! Joe

  13. I don't have kids, but my answer would be Question 1 yes...never think the worst in my eyes. Question 2 no... I would get the treatment rather than have a holiday. Joe
  14. Great numbers! I am making it interesting, it is not JUST about size, it is also about quality and you get extra points for odd shaped pumpkins too, Marrow comp would be great, maybe you can organise one for this year? don't need a prize it can be just for a laugh and whoever wins will be crowned THL marrow king/queen. Just an idea lol. Joe

Interesting, how long did you give yourself time to train for? I am giving myself 10 months and in them 10 months I will be up and down the snowdon national park, peak district and Ben Nevis if I can get there. I am 100% focused on doing this for 2 reasons, 1 for charity as it is nice to give back to people if they deserve it and 2 for self accomplishment and just to say I did it. Any other information would be great, be it on this thread or through PM. Joe. was going to go with a local lad..he's since summited everest] but he let me down..so just booked and went.. i had six
  18. Well done to both France and Ireland the better teams won and I have no problem admitting it. I agree a lot of us English act as if we still own the majority of the world and need to win in everythign and we are better than anyone else. Simple fact is we aren't as good as we think we are and we need to be more relaxed when coming to sporting events. I support England yes, but I also support rugby as a whole and as long as it is a good game, with passion and pride then I will support both teams. Joe
