Cracking dog, and a credit to you for his condition. Lovely. -
Sounds stupid but when he bites you, scream/shout really loudly then ignore him! The level of noise should interrupt the behaviour and he'll gradually learn that doing it will frighten him and get him no where. It's what mature wolves in a pack would do to pups as a method of telling them off. Also frozen raw butchers bones are fab for teething and should keep him busy for a couple of hours, then he'll be exhausted from chewing and sleep!

Spider was the same untill he learnt that he could set it off himself. . . . drives me nuts!

I had a bet once and lost. . . . . yes i tried it! If i hadn't of made it and seen what the liver looks and smells like, then i wouldn't have been sick! A guy i know really likes it!!! My dogs are fed raw, but this is so good for them they have it all the time. Also cheap compared to lots of treats you can buy. I really would put money on every dog loving this! My Jack russel has been taught lots of tricks over the years, if i hold a piece of liver cake up in front of him and don't say anything, he will go through all the tricks he knows off his own back, in the desperate hope

It is really easy to make - ingredients: 1lb liver 1lb flour Plain 3 eggs 2 cloves garlic 1 teaspoon oil splosh of milk Liquidise liver with eggs, milk, oil & garlic in blender. Add to flour & mix Put into a baking tin lined with grease proof paper and bake for about 40 mins on a lowish heat. It will have the same look and consistency as a victoria sponge when ready. Cut into slices & freeze. Defrost when ready to use - don't defrost too much at once as it goes mouldy quite quickly (as if it would get a chance to!) Dogs would kill for this! It

blaine will come some of the time unless hes out side then no chance, hes got sit ok again unless hes out side but i cant get him interested in his toys at all unless he just plays tug!, when i throw some thing for him he just looks at where its landed then snaps at my hand! cheers Have you tried soft toys with a squeaker? My pup loves his fluffy duck and spends hours setting off the duck noise inside. Can normally always hear a quacking coming from the kitchen! Also no more than 5 mins at a time with such a young pup, for training etc. They learn a lot more with little and often

Cheese, hotdogs cut into little chunks, Cooked chicken, liver cake (PM me for reciepe if needed). All of these will work as they are smelly and puppies generally go mad for them. As long as you vary the treats he won't get too loose. IMO using normal kibble or buiscuit isn't as effective as something extra smelly and yummy! My Bed X Whippet pup will heal the entire walk if i take cheese, when i take normal kibble , his recall isn't quite as good as it should be!!!! Liver cake is the best i think as you can make a big batch then freeze it and take out little amounts when you need it

Hello Dawn, Fantstic Border, is he avaliable for stud? Looking for a dog for my sisters bitch. She has a smaller more pointed muzzle, and i'd like something squarer to put over her. Also if he is, where are you?

Men and women banter/flirt/argue all the time, it makes the world go round. Of course there will always be pricks that take it too far (male and Female), in all walks of life not just the hunting life forum! ;)

There is no better feeling than when you love your job. I set up my own business as a photographer a year ago and have never looked back, i LOVE what i do. Spent the morning today looking for pirates on a bridge over a stream with a 2 year old!! Brilliant.

It's all about the humour. . . . . if he can't make me laugh then there's no point.

I tried 3 times and each time got the poxy training nurse who ballsed it up and left me in lots of pain and very bruised. The last attempt she dropped something and my blood gushed everywhere, rather embarassing!! I am however looking into my dog donating blood at the moment, notice up in the vets the other day asking for volunteers! Going in to see them next week.

Hi, i'm new to all this, but have got a 6 mth old bed/whippet cross, i would like to get him working, i know he's too young at the moment but would love to go out lamping with someone to see how its all done and maybe let him have a look at some dogs in action. I live near Sudbury in suffolk, anyone in that area that wants an apprentice?! I'm a photographer by trade and would happily do some pictures of someones dogs in return for showing me the ropes! Thanks hannah.

A friends dog had this in a lhaosa Apsa. He was operated on to have it put back in, the operation was a complete success and there has been no further problems. I think it's normally a pretty straight forward op, and worst case scenario it comes back out then they generally remove it. This can be more complex in terms of after care as i think you need to administer eye drops frequently to stop the eye drying up. My recommendation would be to have it put back in and see if it works. The operation is minor and they are not under for long. Some people leave it but i personally think 1 it lo

Thats hysterical. . . . must be the same naughty fairies that stole a whole fillet of beef of my work top and not 1 of the dogs saw them!! Amazing.

I started my Bedlington/whippet pup on raw at 9 weeks, however although he had a good go at the bones, i found the easiest way to get bone into him was to blend the wings/carcasses. When they are really little sometimes teeth just arn't strong enough. Having said that beef bones are great for them to cut their teeth on. The guy i get my raw food from does lots of different minces, his chicken mince has bone in too, so best of both worlds. Turkey necks are also good. And tripe is fantastic for dogs, as long as it's green tripe. I also when my pup was really young gave him a dry kibble, (Jam

I'd like to know as well? I remember a very drunken conversation round a dinner table in France with friends, 1 of whom was a chef, specialising in game. I'm pretty sure he was banging on about there being no nutritional value in rabbit?? It was a while ago though and we'd had a lot to drink!! Be interesting to find out the truth!

See i think male dogs are much more laid back. However if you have no plans to breed, i dont see any difference between a neutered dog or bitch.

Thanks! She is a bit special, and such a great dog, i don't work her like you lot do, but she gets rabbits all the time just whilst walking, had a pheasent out the sky the other week! She isn't actually a lurcher, dalmation X Beardie!!! Complete accident, but in my opinion a fantastic cross, as you can see from the pics she jumps like a gazelle and just loves to please. Love all my dogs, but she's 1 in a million.

My dogs are fed purely on bone and meat, a combination of chicken, tripe, beef, lamb, turkey and rabbit. I've never supplimented or added veg. I have never seen my dogs looking so well, but worry sometimes that they are missing out on things?? I get green tripe which obviously adds some roughage. They also get sardines in tomato sauce twice a week and kibble once a week.
