Am I right in believing there is a hunt kennel just outside Knighton?
Oh well, wasn't much hope anyway
Good luck with the move, it is a lovely place to live up there, you know which bit? Knighton, Presteigne, Hay on Wye, Montgomery etc.
Knighton mate
Sometime during this year Im moving to Wales.
Just waiting for my mum to find a job and I'm off live live in my grandparents home.
I've always loved the trips up there and haven't ever been happier then when I've been up visiting.
Out the back door and Im off into the wilderness, plenty of quarry and the dogs love it just as much as I do.
Cannot wait :D
If any of you young hunters are looking for somewhere to go for work experience try get ome up the local farm.
I was gunna go to one any put a post on here about it. Awen kindly put me in touch with a farmer but as my mates work experience was first I gave it too him. He's been there a week now and got us two new bits of permission. Been travelling to and from the hunt kennels dropping off dead animals and meeting the hounds and has been shooting pigeons. only down side is yhe had to shovel shit the first day.
In my opinion mate, You'd be best with a whippet x beddie. They are said to be great ferreting dogs. They can also catch any rabbits that slip the nets or escape from unseen bolt holes. I've read about alot that bush pretty well so they'd catch a few in the cover aswell as being able to work in the open fields. They aren't too big either so wouldn't take up much space.
I've seen a few of the old foxing with lurcher dvds, and was wondering if there were any Dvds on Lurchers taking deer.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
