  1. spot on i too have been saying for months guy has glass jaw hes finished hang up the gloves Pretty much sums up the attitudes of our cur society these days !.....if you cant win give up !....every day we lose ground to others with this givng up at the first sign of trouble attitude whether it be race religion society or in this case sport. The kid has an obvious talent, weaknesses yes,but undoubted talent.....so the minute he loses he should give up and go sign on the dole queue thats good advice....
  2. Bill likewise mate....i value any mans opinion who speaks with the head and not the heart....most people who are not real boxing people speak from the heart which is why most of the population wanted the "cocky little shit " to get what he got....believe me being a proud englishman im no fan of khans and im perfectly happy with the result last night like most people.....however,like yourself i try to view boxers and boxing issues with the head so as much as i dont disagree with anything you say or any comparisons you make i do make you wrong regarding benn....nigel benn was much more than a s
  3. What that khan wouldnt win a world title in the next 2 years....bets still on mate no problem.
  4. Bill did you say the same back in 89 after watson knocked out benn ? Khans career is a mirror image of benns...2 years of knocking out bums then the first decent opponent they met knocked them out.....benn couldnt take a shot throughout his career but his talent and punch got him to world titles......without doubt khan has taken a shock loss and he paid for his overconfidence.....hopefully he will do what benn did and get a good trainer and learn his trade again....if he does i still believe he will win a version of a world title.
  5. Near 40 years i been plodding down there and never sat down yet....same as 90 % of others....that was always our strong point sticking 2 fingers up to what society wanted and sticking to our own traditions.....i know one thing,a foreign managers not going to go down well !
  6. Its on Sky box office Gnasher mate. yep your right there , i dont think sky would have been promoting the fight all week for the sultana for free . khan has signed a deal with sky so his next few fights are all on sky box office . My mistake....get mixed up with all these sky channels !....as for this fight being his toughest test so far...id be very surprised if it went more than 3 rounds, prescott might have an unbeaten record with nearly all ko,s but so would anyone who was fighting his friends and neighbors ...his opponents having exactly been what you would call subst
  7. West ham fans dont kid themself about what they should be achieving ....do you go to games wilf ? Sometimes the hatred around the ground is scarey....even when we,re winning !....the trouble is we are a selling club,we create and bring through great players and then sell them to the big boys.....90 % of regular fans know that if we could keep these players we would achieve much more......again though money is the evil....brooking,devonshire and many others were top notch in their day and stayed true to the club....that little shit lampard with all his family history with the club could
  8. If im not mistaken Wilf your a hammers fan like myself.....and if so you will know only too well what its like to be a relatively big club who never win anything !.....personally i think newcastle are a very big club,i dont judge a club on what they win or dont win as its clear these days that peoples money wins trophies not football teams, lets face it,man city are about to become the biggest club in the country, what sense is that ! Like west ham newcastle have a massive following and very passionate supporters, they have a good history and i for one would like to see them do well as there are
  9. Same old shit....the difference is frank warren is a boxing promoter not a trainer or manager !.....and tell me a british promoter who has done more for british boxing or putting british boxers on the world map than frank warren ? Of course he cares for money...its his living.....but any young pro fighter with the choice would choose frank as his promoter, fact ! Khans fight saturday is on setanta and will cost you 15 quid to see it which personally i find a joke when the kid hasnt yet made the big time......
  10. Thanks pal...with that big fluffy coat im not sure they look " hard enough " for todays wannabe toughies.....but im sure a few reported attacks in the papers and media frenzy for another dangerous breed will add to the appeal... If theres no height/weight limit id like to see how a 50 lber stacks up for power with a 50 lb pit bull.....its easy to make a 150 lb dog look powerful ...that said, the russians dont do things by halves so must be something there !
  11. Hard to tell from this vid,but are these dogs either extremely dense coated....or is this one just extremely overweight ?......what are their uses...are they bred to type ?
  12. Is this the dog thats bred like no other ? .... i was led to believe this dog was the cream of the crop in the stafford world, must be someone willing to take him on surely
  13. Doesnt surprise me at all, look at the size of a rottweiler !....theoretically frank bruno probably hits harder than joe calzaghe what with him being 4 stone heavier.....but does he have the necessary speed, style and intelligence to land them heavier blows as effectively as the smaller man ? can a rottweiler do as much damage as a pit bull ? i think not.......one thing i learned many years ago....a dog bites hard because he wants to,simple as that.
  14. So if number 3 had said American Pit Bull Terrier underneath it you would have said no its not its a mistake would you?.......its real easy for everyone to say they got it first time when nobody can say you didnt ....... But the above comment is just silly.....some of the best dogs in the breed have looked less like a pure pit bull than some of the dogs bred for looks alone....look at Hammonds Parkson who was double bred rufus as one quick example....the dog looked more like a labrador than a labrador does, gary even said so himself !.......when dogs are " game bred " as the fella above puts
  15. Ive probably seen more than most and not as many as some......but it took me 2 trys ....in fact id have said numbers 3,16 and 21 could all be easily mistaken.....theres so many variations within the breed you could post pictures of some good dogs down the years that most would never have thought were pure.
  16. I dare say he would he seems a modest enough lad....but you cant honestly comare barry to gerrard for proven ability surely....gerrard has proved himself probably the best player in a side at the very top level of club football...with respect, barry has proved himself a good player in a side whos finished 16th,12th and 6th in their last few seasons....he,s a good player in an improving team thats all in my opinion.....but at the very top level of club football like gearrards at i think he would become an average player......dont seem much rush for the big 4 to snap him up so maybe we,ll never k
  17. Couldnt agree more mate......as an example, back years ago i had the dubious pleasure of being a punch bag for a very young frank bruno when terry lawless had his gym above the thatched house pub in east london, before frank was a big name......now i was never no sugar ray leonard but even i could make him look terrible.....ok we know he never did exactly have silky skills and elegant footwork.....but even back then if you was to watch him in front of the mirrors or on the pads you would have thought he was a more powerful version of muhammed ali !!!.....just go,s to show whats pleasing to the e
  18. Not a liverpool fan myself but id rather have gerrard with his laces permanently tied together than gareth barry !.....in a decent villa team barry looks head and shoulders above the rest.....in the top 3 teams he would look average in my opinion.
  19. It always makes me laugh when i read comments like that Jasp.....why would ronaldo have any loyalty to united ?...he or any other foreigner couldnt give a bollock about what english club they play for and certainly have no respect for our clubs traditions etc.....for a player like ronaldo man utd are just a stage to do their thing on in front of the world....some dont set the world alight and end up going back where they came from, others like ronaldo will then look for what in their eyes is bigger and better things.....i agree, what bigger club could he want to play for than utd.....but thats t
  20. Just got back from the hammers.....if we can get a few more players back fit i think anything less than the title will be a disappointment for west ham In all seriousness i think it will be a simple 2 horse race between chelski and utd.....wouldnt be surprised to see arsenal drop out the top 4 this year.....no significant signings and from what i hear today, the same pretty possession play with little result at the end. 1.West Ham 2.Man Utd 3.Chelski 4.Liverpool You gotta laugh.
  21. The last time the record was broke by that much and by such a big winning margin was ben johnson.....and we all know what happened after that race !...... In the semi and final Bolt looked freakishly head and shoulders above the rest and is some athlete......im surprised he doesnt double up with the 200....or maybe he does i dont know.
  22. Seen it so many times over the years....kids who have developed their skills and technique in front of a mirror, then progressed to pads and bag and still looked great....then progressed to light sparring and still looked great.....only to see it all come apart when under any sort of pressure....the first thing to go out the window when under pressure is technique......these kids have the same chance as any other of that age,but all the pretty moves in the world wont help if everything else is not right.......for importance id put dedication,a solid guard and correct punch delivery in front of
  23. is how they used to do the bulls when they first came into country. ....a washing line ?...cant imagine that working it would get smashed to pieces, running circle would be nowhere near wide enough....think your on about a jenny/catmill....with a much wider running circle....probably easier to make than a mill, but obviously much more space needed.
