I think if Carrol had been playing 20 years ago he would have been the top striker around but the English game doesnt suit him....even Sam Allardyce is now trying to play football i mean whats the world coming to ......Id have Suarez or Tevez over pretty much all the English strikers we just cant really produce an out and out goalscorer now because of the way the games gone,even Rooney is a far better player playing deep......................................................................theres always Carlton Cole of course

I can see the theory to it as in its harder for forwards to block off a marker but a forward running towards goal is always going to have the jump on a defender jumping from a standing position.....swings and roundabouts i guess,maybe the modern game is more complicated than it needs to be

Absolutely.....when your talking about fractions of an inch at speed who would want to be a linesman sod that......if it had been a close game id probably be screaming but we got mullered in the second half so well happy to get a draw out of it. And as regards Suarez.........i dont care if he misses 99% of chances he gets......when you apply yourself as much as he does and give such value to your side stats go out the window......theres too many stats in the game these days anyway !

Totally agree.....just look at a few of the shit players he has brought into his current group of " title challengers ".... Young Park,Chamack,Gervinho,Giroud.....not exactly household names are they......thats to go with the likes of Djourou,Squillachi,Rosicky ( yes he,s still alive apparently ) Arshavin etc etc......... This from a club who charge more than any other club in Europe to watch !

Totally agree about the rest thing.......also its not just a physical thing its just as important mentally for a dog to relax......any dog whos body is peaked constantly will lose drive and intensity......dogs just cant live their lives fully on the edge,neither can people come to that. The dog in question i dont think has ever been out of shape and he,s not a summer hunter just likes to keep the dog like that......im of the opinion a dog needs a break not just to relax their body but to get them mentally up for it again as their body starts to peak come season time......maybe its just been a few off weeks but if it continues i think he,ll rest him up a while.....just a shame to be resting a dog during the season whos not otherwise injured.

Do you folk with running dogs keep your dogs in good nick all year round or just in the season ?......Saw a mate of mines dog out over the wknd and he,s just not on form dont really have the glint in the eye or seem up for it and he,s in good health..........his owner keeps him in top condition year round im beginning to wonder if the dogs just stale in the mind through constantly being in top nick.......just wondered what you chaps do with your dogs condition wise off season.

This is where i think people like you miss out by following clubs from hundreds of miles away not only do you not get the general feeling amongst fans in the stadium you dont mix with fans in the area the club is in and get the feelings of people in the pubs,cafes,workplaces etc.......You are a few years behind the Arsenal fans i know they used to bang on about the ground and the bank account....now they couldnt care less they would give anything to go back to Highbury and be competing for trophies again !......We all like to focus on whats best about our clubs and shout about it im as guilty
