  1. i got phone call from a lad yesterday asking me if i knew anyone that would be into buying 2 unstamped greyhounds he reckoned that they would be great for racing at shows and that he had sold 3 others from the same litter for that purpose i just would like to see what people think of that and would anyone admit to actually doing it because we all know it goes on but if the dogs are not stamped what can the race organisers do maybe have different class for more greyhound type luchers

  3. i'l still do a small bit of lamping over the summer but only if the weather is right and it's dark enough mainly just to keep the ferrets with fresh meat while their breeding and maybe a few fox's if im ask to keep the farmer or the gun club happy if they are losing lambs or birds but that is just to keep the premisen i'd rather leave them alone until september and if i did'nt do it someone else would but lamping the same place constantly will only school the young rabbits that will provide great sport in the winter

  6. i have read that artical and found it very intersting but the thing that cause's me concern in it is the choclate protien shake because there is a chemical in choclate that can be leatal to dogs i myself only give the dogs cod liver oil in their food to help maintain a good coat and keep the joints well oiled but for building muscle mass it's just the plain ole simply right amount of food and excersie and my own dogs seem to do ok
  7. i'm from a council estate 10 minutes drive from Dublin city center and i have 10 working dogs and 9 ferrets but luckly there is still some waste land about that holds a fair bit of quarry to keep my dogs interested on their daily excercise but to go for a decent hunt i have to travel a good bit and getting premission with a strong Dublin accent can be a bit of a pain in the hole but if i did'nt wear my camo gear and have my C.S.A membership i dont think i would stand a chance in getting onto any farmers land.i take great pride in all my animals wheather it be my dogs ferrets or horse's but be

  18. As much as i prefer a Collie bred lurcher,if you ever get the opportunity to witness a proper cousing dog in the field, you may reflect on your last statement. im not saying that he is the best coursing dog going just saying that lamping a dog and coursing them can be right for some dogs and i have seen some proper coursing dogs working in the field and i have owned some very good coursing dogs but coursing is not my main game lamping is and as i said a lot of dogs used mainly for coursing are not great on a rabbit but a dog used for mainly lamping well make a better allrounder Lets not
  19. hi there mate ireland the place to look mate / im in Ireland mate but the gene pool of proper working wheaten has become very small and even some of the good blood line have become barking w--kers and the KC has in my opinion has destroyed another good working breed

  22. a friend of mine is looking for a good working wheaten terrier dog to cover his wheaten bitch and we've been out to see a few working but none were up to standard bar a few that were bred to close to the bitch's line to use he could use one but he would rather broaden the blood line and keep the breed doing what it was bred for
  23. i use my 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie dog for lamping mainly but if the lads are going coursing i bring him along and i've seen him make dirt of some good saluki bred hare dogs that are only used for coursing and i've seen rabbits make a show of some very good hare dogs
