  1. took a few pics to day of my patterdale pup
  2. here are my 2 wheaten xs they suit me i find them great allrounders
  3. i dont dig this time of year unless the fox is causing damage but i been at a couple of shows in the last few weeks and listening to lads talking about going out to try young dogs and i was telling them my point of view on the matter that i think they should wait a while but hearing shit like this will sort out the men from the boys and that they want to try them now because they dont want to feed them all summer and then find out they are useless.well i think it will be them that renders them useless
  4. Spot on. so it's his fault we have all these poxy saluki xs over here now give me a collie x over one of them any day
  5. but i find on the really warm days the dogs find it hard even just out for a walk for an hour or 2 so i reckon a couple of hours under ground working really hard game on a really warm day would be a lot harder work than a cold wet day in the middle of december but would you give up on a dog that came off it's game on a warm day or would you leave it and try again in the winter
  6. i dont work my terriers this time of year unless i have been asked in order to carry out pest control and keep the land owner happy so i keep the permission but i am just wondering would a terrier be more likely to jack during the summer while it is a lot warmer out and the quarry are more likely to be more aggressive while protecting young and the ground a lot harder and digging takes a lot longer .this question is to the lads in ireland and britain but also to the lads in mainland europe that dig the stuff we dont
  7. you can not say after a few days that he is alright now .get rid of your lurcher and get a hamster before you cause more damage ye pleb
  8. I have in the past paid for dogs, but the last 4 dogs I got (let me say the best 4) I paid a handshake and my word they would be worked. most good dogs are not sold if someone has to get rid usualy a friend will take them on so we can keep the good stuff around us but 1 thing allways said to a mate when giving them a GOOD DOG is if ye have to get rid give it back

  11. if ye want to use a wheaten for stud make sure you see it work so ye might have to wait until mid season or next summer
  12. well my bitch was bred by a mate of mine who has kept a wheaten line for years his father owned a bitch called Dublin Tinker and he has kept a line from her but he will admit that not many will match up to her standard but he has had some very good ones he got a retired coursing bitch and mated her to his wheaten dog and kept two bitch pups from the litter that were 100% workers on all quarry he then gave 1 of the bitchs to a friend and bred the other bitch to a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bull dog and the resulting litter produced my bitch she is coming 5 year old now and has grafted hard from around 1

  19. bang on Kevin that's why there is so many failed terriers out there or not anymore if the case maybe but if they were just started off with lighter work they would come on a lot better you would'nt expect a lurcher to catch 20 rabbits on it's first night lamping or a boxer would not fight for a world title on his first professional fight in every job it takes time to learn the ropes
