Shoots needing beaters?
PuBS replied to Black Cat's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Greek phil you seem to have more information about what happened than me, so i do really wonder who you really are, and dont forget hacking is a criminal offence. I do have hard copies of all the posts anyway, quite a folder building up. Now if NOBS tries to obtain corporate sponsorship by quoting false paid up membership figures, or sells advertising on the same basis, I do wonder if that is legal too? Restructuring is happening now as many of the Regional Officers have jacked it in anyway- one saying they were fed up with dealing with complaints. Reorganisation is happening too, -
Shoots needing beaters?
PuBS replied to Black Cat's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
wasnt gossip was in fact comments about me personally, stating that i was paranoid about security of pms etc., from the Admin Forum of a site and who I had warned of security. This was because I have hard copies from several ex nobs management admitting that they could, and did, read private messages, some after reassuring Forum members that they couldnt and wouldnt. To hack into the Admin Forum far exceeded even my concerns, rather proved my point very effectively dont you feel, especially as I was subsequently informed that the hacker was someone who should have known better. Hacking is inc -
Shoots needing beaters?
PuBS replied to Black Cat's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Not a personal vendetta at all Matt just object to an organisation which charges people and fails to deliver on its promises- just check some of the comments here if you do a search for "NOBS" - and which claims 9,000 members which its accounts sadly reveal to be false - minimum fee £5 -shoots paying double- times 9,000 =£45,000 - the income from ALL sources was less than £15k so something does not tally does it? NOBS Forum claims a vast membership - checked the posts recently? I have, doesnt seem much going on there either!! -

Game keeping experience
PuBS replied to Cmwoods's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
join www.pubs.myfunforum.org and post there. I beat and pick up at several shoots around cirencester and have contacts to help you - from small family shoots to commercial ones. One near Cirencester doesnt pay but you get a hot meal (main course by me, puds to die for by a chef), several days vermin shooting and the keeper is extremely well qualified and a good mate, always heaving with beaters despite no pay and a good laugh and they shoot every other saturday during the season. I can give you a lift there if you need one from Cirencester as its on my route. Many thanks for replying to -

Found a new BARF dog food, packaged in handy 500gm salami style packs, frozen and delivered to your door. www.basilsdogfood.co.uk My first consignment arrived and I dropped one on the floor, didnt realise and one of springers did!! Even frozen she scoffed half of it!! All my dogs love it and its what they eat first, picking it out from the mix, even if well stirred up. Some might say its more expensive than buying loose, it may be but its cleaner, and quicker and easier to use.

Another beaters essential is chocolate or cigarettes keepers are easily bribed with either. With a supply of these you are bound to have to walk with the keeper and that is always the shortest and easiest route  At one shoot where I beat and the topography is challenging I asked one young lady how she got to do the easy bits. She stated that you had to sleep with the keeper - I did try - all i got was a fat lip and sent on stop for most of the day!!

this thread on this forum may enlighten you http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/115107-nobs/page__p__1188700__hl__nobs__fromsearch__1#entry1188700 has any one with SACS Insurance received a cover note from the insurers giving termas and conditions?
-
Thanks for the comment seanyboy - PuBS tries to be a friendly and relaxed forum - and it works - a local keeper has filled all his places via PuBS and is thrilled to bits- actually its all down to you people out there posting on the PuBS Forum and linking up.

NOBS and SACS claim that commercial activity is covered but the person who arranged the SACS cover says any reward or payment- and a brace of birds is payment- would negate cover whilst beating or picking up. Read any smasll print carefully and check with the insurer
