  1. Where running dogs are concerned I have always kept dogs, I have found bitches mature earlier but dogs seem to have that edge, but there are good and bad in both, I have also seen some very good bitches though! Terriers are the opposite way around, I prefer bitches, always have, my dogs are mainly kept for working cover and I find bitches alot more willing to work, dogs can sometimes be lazy and dance around the cover waiting for something to happen, before they get stuck in. I like a dog that wants to put the effort in. As for being faithfull, my little red terrier bitch and lurcher dog a

  4. Drontal also do a puppy worming syrup, I have always used this and think it's fantastic!! scroll down the page of the following link: http://www.wormers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_C...Wormers_16.html Edited to add..... I only use Drontal from puppies to adult dogs, but that shite from the supermarket is just that.. SHITE, thats why they sell it in the supermarket for next to nothing, it might get rid of a few worms but it wont be half as good as the top brands, guaranteed!!! buy the Drontal puppy suspension, you wont go wrong!!! it may be a little more expensive but worth every penny! 5. If the question is 100 rabbits in one perfect night with one dog then yes it is easily possible, If the writer means 100 rabbits a night consistantly with one dog then this would be an amazing feat IMHO! Was out myself the night before last as the conditions were perfect, the total bag was 19 brown rabbits and one big red one that got a little too nosey for his own good , all this was managed in 45 mins! The land was some permission that i'm blessed to have! No uninivited lampers so the rabbits were not lampshy at all and as this was the first time I had lamped this so far this season we
  6. Well done mate, it's the best feeleing in the world aint it? Congratulations!!! :drunk:
  7. That is very sad news indeed!! He was an excepional talent! I was/still am a big fan of his paintings and have a large collection of the "dog taking the ferret lamping" type of pictures among others, which have added character to few of the rooms in my house. Very sad news that is .....................R.I.P.
  8. Well done Haggler, cracking pics, do you often work a lurcher alongside your terriers?
  9. Valerio - have you got any pics of the dogs you use or the quarry you hunt? Like already said, foxes are the hardest quarry we can legally hunt, and I for one am proud of the shitty little fox dogs I own !!! Again I'll ask have you any pics to give us a glance of your harder quarry, what animal do you rate as a decent test for your terriers?
  10. You think thats bad, my stepmother was born on the 31st October - Halloween, we have some laughs with that topic when we were younger :11: :tongue4: And yes, she has all the attributes associated with the date, she even had a big fat black cat :11:
  11. I have a variety of smokers at the minute, a strimmer engine, 2 petrol hedge cutter engines and a petrol garden vac/blower, this is the best, you don't need to keep your finger on any type of trigger because once its started there is a little switch for fast or slow, which frees up both your hands. Smokers are OK but could you not use ferrets?
  12. Cracking looking dogs there mate, what lines are they? I have a bitch here that is the spitting image of the one on the left.
  13. You certainly have got that right :11: All the best with your pups mate, 18 is some litter, good luck

  16. Every time it cry's give it a blast with either a jug of cold water or a hose pipe, after a couple of soakings it will soon learn, good luck
  17. Out last night for the first time this season, tried some permission I have, it was the first time I'd been there in over a year and I wasn't disapointed!, not the biggest of bags at 12 rabbits, but some good fun all the same. I took along a young lad that is trying to get into dogs, i bred him a couple of terrier pups last year, so he will have something to come out with me with during my days out, he also bought a lurcher pup at around the same time and has been pestering me for a while to take the two of them out with me, to be honest I had gone off lamping rabbits, but last night reall
  18. Try and find a place which manufactures hydrolic hose pipes, I got a length from such a place (cant remember the name of the place ), not the hydrolic type but another type (i forget which), the length I have can stand heat up to 200 degrees and isnt hot to touch!!! had the same length of pipe for about 6 years now, just attach it to my different smokers with a jubilee clip.... job done!
  19. How many time do dogs actually get caught, fatally or not, just from wearing a collar? Unless their collar was hanging like a madallion around there neck . I always run mine with collars on, never had a problem! YES, it could happen, that would be unforutnate, but highly unlikely to happen! I even know of a man that decided to stop letting his dog wear a collar whilst running (daytime) after hearing of a friends dog that got snagged on a branch, the first time the fella took his dog out without a collar on it jumped over a small hedge in hot persuit of a hare, only to land on a peice of far
