  1. Well done Woodga! nice type of dog you have there and a decent catch too!
  2. Nice pair you got there mate and well done with the catch, what % bull are they?
  3. My uncle once had a saluki X who lost half of his tail in the car door , his running didn't seem to be effected too much by it though. I would presume that it would take time to get used to it - balance etc!
  4. Know exactly how it feels mate, hope he gets the dogs back.
  5. Bit of nylon rope through the collar for me too, under the collar and not through the metal loop though, never had any problems with running a dog with a collar on!

Thats great Wilky mate, looks spot on!! (i've left you PM!!) I'll be picking it up middle of next week! Thanks again!
  7. I can't imagine why someone would want to do that to a dog - worker OR pet There are certainly some wankers out there :realmad: :realmad: Hastings this will surely effect you if you decide to work the dog???
  8. I suppose I'm lucky in that respect, I feed my lot on Raw chicken carcasses but get them for nowt!! A local asian butchers of all places, if their open i can knock on the back door and they give me a bid basket full! The bones are no problem for the dogs, I've fed mine on this type of food for years and never had a problem!
  9. Certainly looks the part Lucky, hope he does everything you want from him!
  10. Nice type of dog there mate, what lines?
  11. Cant beleive I've only just seen this thread!! Sorry to hear about TYKE lucky, seen the dog in the flesh and he was a belter, I wish ya luck mate in finding another
  12. It may be a case of crossed wires here but from the first post it sounded like the pup had ran a rabbit and then gone back out later on and done the same thing Fair enough the lads got all the right in the world to be happy at his pup showing "Natural instinct" but the same "Natural instinct" will be seen in 3 or 4 months time, all i'm saying is after the first run I would have been a bit more cautious the second time round..... but..... each to there own eh? What ever works for ya!! I maybe wrong but I personally wouldn't let my pup run a rabbit at 5 months, I have seen too many dog
  13. Excellent bit of woodwork that Bone, well done mate
  14. Not one to butt in but.... you will see her run plenty of rabbits when the season starts so whats the rush? i can understand that you are happy that your dog is showing willing but if you have run lurchers for 20 years then you should know that runnig them at 5 month old will do more harm than good mate! PS - personally I would have kept her on the lead if i knew there would be rabbits hanging around!!
  15. Cracking looking pup you got there tancho!! Good luck with her this year!!!
  16. Contact C/D on here, he sells it! Brilliant stuff!!!!!

You'll have to take to a shop for it opening on another network, it shouldn't cost you more than a fiver!! Depending on where you live there should be plenty of shops to do it for ya!!
  18. 11 pups is some litter mate! it'll take some out of your bitch especially in this weather! My bitch had 9 pups on her first litter but one died, all the others lived. Good luck with them anyway!!
  19. I have always thought like that too oldskool. I'm no expert and I most certainly haven't the experience of some on here, but I have always taught a dog in the same way and it's worked for me, maybe people dissagree with this but thats up to them, i'm sure not everyone goes about bringing a dog on in the same way.
  20. It's not a case of second rate dogs Kane these cubs will be run for the purpose of a young dog and it's not a case of them getting too fast or aggressive, they are cubs at the end of the day, I don't rate my dog anymore for killing them, but like I said they are bigger than most cubs at this time of year, in fact I would expect to kill ones this size early season, but like i said it must have been an early litter. They are perfect to bring a young dog on with though. Have you never killed a cub before Kane?? Or are you the only perfect one on here? Danny
  21. Cracking dogs, like the look of the first one!
  22. Definately get yourself a red filter mate, I never go out at night without one! Lampshy or not! I had a walk about my local golf course the other evening (about 9ish) It was still light, I was sat under a tree watching 3 cubs playing about, they were fairly big, bigger than you'd expect anyway, must have been an early litter! i gave a quick squeak and 2 came flying! I stopped squeaking before they got too close, there was no vixen about, that I could see so I'll be back out in the next couple of weeks
  23. I brought on a whippet x saluki that looked the spitting image of your dog only with bigger ears and an tad smaller! She looks more Greyhound than anything to me, but i'm no expert!! Give the dog time mate. like some have said, it could be an immature thing, but there is no rush for her, hope she comes right for you
