I have been approched by the landlord of the pub across the road from as he wants to do a firework show from my front garden as he cant get a licence to do it from the pub grounds, all i want to know is what are ferrets generally like with fireworks? does it bother them or will they just think nothing of it? he says it will only be a 15 minute show. The ferrets are round the back of the house, obviously it wont be till november 5th but he needs time to organise it cheers Dean

  6. my albino hob does this with tennis balls..if i put 1 ball in the run he will pick it up and take it to bed..if i put 3 balls in he will take all 3 to bed, i'l film it 1 day and post it on here

  8. I would put a ramp in as the ferrets may find it easy to get up the trouser legs but not down them
  9. you cant train ugly foals to be beautiful...you can train a kit to stop nipping
  10. try moving the poo from the end you dont want them to poo to the end that you do, when you clean them out just leave some there and they might realise thats the end to go...how old are they?
  11. i think there is no worse smell than a wet dog...it makes ferrets smell like roses IMO

  13. couldn't agree more I think people get them on impulse as a freebie or very little money and know absolutly nothing about them...i read three books before getting mine and this gave me some knowledge into keeping ferrets but dont get me wrong i am still learning things about them and probably always will learn new things, but the basics like food, housing, health ect ect should always be in place before getting a ferret Thanks to everyone on here who gives me tips and advice from time to time
  14. my kit is 10 weeks now and she was a terrible little nipper...all i do is put some malt paste on my hands and fingers when i handle she licks it all of...when i pick her up now she doesn't attemp to bite...i like to think my method worked wonders but she probably just grew out of nipping lol

  18. i got a call from my mum saying she'd seen a mouse in her front room.. i left her to her own devices and thort she would catch it easily with my dad and my dog (still lives with my mum and dad due to the bond he struck up with mum and dads collie 7 years ago)...but 3 hours later i phoned my mum who was still petrified and the mouse was still at large!! i said "i'l fetch a couple of ferrets round" she said "NO" as she likes my ferts but can't handle or touch them.. but i convinced her that they would get the mouse...anyway 2 of my ferrets got to work and soon flushed the mouse out from under th
  19. How come your kits are so old? they must have come into season really early?
  20. mine is the same..8 weeks and always nippy..it doesn't hurt and i dont mind her doing it for now as its what kits do but i am slowly trying to stop her doin it, a few more weeks and im hoping she'll be fine..i dont believe in tapping or flicking them on their noses though but everyone will have their own methods
