    these people who say run it at 3 months how the feck is beyond me, my pup is hitting just over 5 months, and is not interesd at all, i take her out ferreting and lamping with my mates and she just wants to sit by my side or follow close to me. she chases things yes but not to the point she wants to leg it round the whole field. i just cant see how they want to run so young. my pup will not even see a squatter properly till she is 7 months and that is when the lamping beguins. but as this is my first dog i am probelry wrong, but i just want to make sure she has had a good puppy hood first.

    Just wondering if any one fancies meating up for a pint. I live nr swindon and can garentee a table at my local for all to have a chat and a pint and is dog friendly if you fancy brining one along.     my wife is not anti but dose not like it lol, if i bring home some rabbits i have to ypass her straight away to the kithcen,sort them out then come and say hello, if she knows i am going out with a mate for some deer shooting then she goes ape, and if she knows ive been in a fox shoot she goes bloody mental at me, but thats her, my mum hates all animals so dont batter a eye lid, and my sister hates the idea of what i do. so as long as i dont metion it and she dont know where all happy lol.

    my pup dose this when she come back from a walk and its defo nettles, she cant rest for upto a couple of hours after wards, trshing her bed etc etc, after that she is right as rain again, i found keeping her active during the period helps.

    As the wife is away this year at her mums in prague, i was left to cook my own dinner, no drama, maid a lovely roast gammon, roast vedge etc etc, starved my self all day, dook the dogs out had a lovely walk, got home ready to serve my dins, i plated it all up poored myself a nice pint of speckled hen to go with it. Well onced served up i had half of it and was full to the brim, bloody beautifull but just to much for me, so thought as its christmas will give the dogs half each of what was left.     nothing to do with lamping but when we where going on exercise once in the army, we where heading through a town on the bus and got stuck in traffic, the bus was high and a couple in one of them basement flats where at it like rabbits, why they never closed the curtains is beyond me, but 40 squadies all drooling at some fit bird riding her bloke was the highlight of that whole excercise.

    You dont say how she is bred,that would give you insight in to how she's thinking. Also it would help you to deal with it,you can not disciplin a terrier bred lurcher,the same as a whippet lurcher.Whatever the crack she's not listening,please tell me how she is bred? She is a bedy whippet x collie grey. thing is i watch her and when she is about to do something wrong she knows it is wrong because i can tell wih her body language, but she dose it anyways and waits for the big no.

    When be and worldhunter went out, he forgot his wellies so instantly piss wet through as it was a wet soggy night, then later on he came running up behind asked where he had been, he just replied "fell flat on my arse". put a smile on my face after a miserable night.

    yeah i understand that you cant punish a dog for something it dose not know if you get me, hitting it for being sick is just stupid, plus i know if i gave her a smack for not coming back on the recall, it will just make the training een harder.

    just general chewing shoes, even though i offer her something else and praise her when she chews that, but turn your back and she is back in the shoe rack. taking rubish from the bin, even sussed how to open the flip top bins. just general stuff, all her other training like sit recall, retrieve etc are realy good.

    been working with my lurcher now for a couple of months, and she is a stuborn young cow at times, the word no shouted as loud as possible only deters her for all of two seconds, there is times where i could give her a good slap and reinforce it with a loud no, is this gona do drastic actions. Just want her to be good, dont mind a bit of bad stuff but some things she has to learn.

    what you joining mate, i'm a recruit instrctor at pirbright. i'll miss your induction as my troop paasout the following week, but if its pirbright you come to i will know your instructors. As for the troops serving overseas, my old troop from my home regiment is out there now, me and the wife sent them some good prezzies
