This is a brand new scope, it is surplus to my requirements as I'm selling the rifle it was going to go on. Grab a bargain. I have another one on my .243 and its a fantastic scope for the money. It is boxed and complete with all accessories. See below for full details. MTC's Tiapan rifle scope deserves it's status as the Flagship of the current range. The lenses are the same specification as the Viper's but only the very best are specially selected for the Taipan. Other enhancements over the Viper are.. The reticle Illumination system- which is now electronic and has five intensitty s

Now surplus to requirements as I have a newer even longer range model (Not that I can shoot as far as either of them of course!) It's in very good condition, works superbly no scratches or marks on any of the lenses. Comes with the belt pouch. Being sold to raise funds for a new .243 I'm looking for £280 posted by Special delivery. Here's specs: LEICA RANGEMASTER 900 scan - works at the press of a button At the press of a button, this compact laser rangefinder will tell exactly how far away your target is, whether its in yards or meters. Gnasher16, I have a major problem with your comments. Two young women have died purely for doing a job most people would not want to do. You may not like police but are they any less important than soldiers? A lot of people do not value the work our armed forces do. Perhaps we should be more concerned that we have got so used to losing young squaddies in Afgan that it barely registers with us any more. The fact remains that they all died in the service of our country. Before you ask, yes, I am a copper, I also served in the army before that. I have spent the day since I heard this appalli

I use peltors too both at work and in the field. As above there is always a problem with picking up the direction that sounds are coming from. One way round is to have them perched just above one ear then pull it down before shooting. Obviously that's no good for walked up shooting. I tend to pull them off and listen every now and then. Then put them back on when I've got an idea where things are and move off again.

Has anyone used one of these trigger kits
Operator replied to Operator's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
They are out of stock at the moment. I'll let you know what they are like if I get one. -
Has anyone used one of these trigger kits
Operator replied to Operator's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'm waiting to hear back from them exactly what comes with it. If its the same as the other kits I'll give it a go and let you all know. -
Has anyone bought this kit from czrifles.co.uk? http://www.czrifles.co.uk/trigger-kits-for-cz-452-455-rifles-8-80/ They are cheaper than the other kits on the market, I was interested to see if anyone had knowledge or experience of them.

New CZ455 .17HMR Moderator issue
Operator replied to Operator's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
It's gone back to EB via the gun shop. They will swap it out as soon as they get them back in stock. I can't wait to get some more rounds through it and see the accuracy tighten up. -

It didn't feel like I'd cross threaded it, I've just had a look and there is bare metal showing through on the mod threads so I guess thats what it is. I'll have to see if Edgar Brothers will swap it out, if not I could just replace the screw end and a few baffles. It's pissing me right off, I've been waiting ages to get it now this! Thanks for the advice. -

Looks like there was a problem. Fired about 30 rounds today to continue running in the barrel and accuracy was still a bit hit and miss. When I took the mod off I found that the first two baffles had been damaged badly and pushed in. The remaining just had slight damage around the centre bore hole as yesterday. I will have to contact Edgar Brothers. What is the most likely cause? The only thing I can think is that the alignment between barrel and mod is not correct. I don't want to try my other SM11 because if I damage that I won't have one for my .22, that is still as new and undamaged. I'm h -

Mine is supposed to be the one for 16" barrels with the first two baffles made of steel. I can't see any difference in the holes/damage and there is no marking on the tube stating which one it is. I won't worry about it, just keep on shooting. Thanks again! -

Thanks tegater, puts my mind at rest. I didn't have a huge amount of time so I only put 30 or 40 rounds through it. I thought that might be the case but you know what it's like with something new! Hopefully I'll get out again tomorrow and tighten things up a bit. A still day would help! -
Hi, I took my new CZ455 .17HMR Varmint barrelled rifle out to zero for the first time today. At 100 metres I was shooting 40mm groups. It was a bit windy but I was hitting high and low as well as left and right. I've not shot this calibre before but I can print 3 round groups all touching with my .22 at 60 metres and 25mm groups at 100 with my .308 AI. I assumed it was just down to it being new and needing to run in a bit. When I got home and cleaned it it took the SM11 moderator apart to see how dirty it was and found that the hole in the centre of the baffles was very rough and almost lo

Good work mate. Keep safe and you can relax with some laid-back shooting when you come home.

Matt, I've just found the email, the details are: UK Gun Repairs Pond Cottage Nicholashayne Wellington Somerset TA21 9QY Regards Peter for UK Gun Repairs 01884 841892 07719436848 And they were really helpful, it was a chap called Dennis there who tracked down the part, it was 11 quid including postage. If they have any problem tracking the part number I might have the receipt still. I'm nights at the mo but I'll have a look when I get up. ATB, Chris.

I used a normal screw in qd stud for the rear and a replacement magazine end cap with a sling point on it. I'll try and find the company I bought it from and let you know. It took me ages to find it but it works perfectly.

FAC Application - Advice Please
Operator replied to wilbert's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
As paulus said each force is different I've got buy/hold .22 1000/1200 .17 500/600 .243 500/600 It is ridiculous of course, a man with 400 rounds of ammo is no less of a threat than one with 500 rounds, if someone snaps and is able to shoot 400 people before being taken out then the wheel really has come off. I'd advise asking for what you think you need, they might say no or a lower amount but you've not lost anything. A mate of mine had his interview with the FEO and he actually advised him to increase the buy/hold amounts he had requested. That's quality service! -
I don't think you have anything to lose by calling. They are over stretched but if you are polite and ask if they have any idea when your ticket will be processed I'm sure it could help. I explained that if if took 8 weeks I would be on the middle of a shift pattern that meant I could not buy any guns until late September and mine came within 4 weeks. They are not bad people just over stretched so as long as you are understanding I'm sure most FEOs will be helpful.

FAC Arrives... Bank balance takes a hammering!
Operator replied to reeking rabbits's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Good work mate. Hopefully I'll be picking mine up this week. Let the shooting begin. -
What have you put in for? The 2nd most frustrating thing is having permission for a number of calibers when you can't afford to buy them all! I've opted to get the 2 rim fires now as I've got a couple of scopes and a bipod that I can use with them, then when I've got more money I can get my perfect .243 set up (Well an affordable one at least...)

I put my forms in about 6 weeks ago, had the interview about 4 weeks ago and was told it would be 8 to 10 weeks so I was well chuffed with it being half the time. With regards to the open ticket I provided lots of evidence of my firearms experience and training, spoke to the FEO on the interview and emailed a request. Sussex police have been very helpful, before I applied I emailed a number of questions about what I needed to include on the form and clarification on how to include all my permissions. They replied promtly and it made it much easier. There is nothing more frustrating than t

I came home from training yesterday to discover my FAC on the doorstep. Open ticket for .22lr, .17hmr, .243 and a high cap shotgun. Let the buying commence!!! I can't wait. A big thankyou to the advice and guides to applying foun on this forum.

I put "See attached" on the form and included a sheet of paper with each permission address and contact details on then also photocopied each permission form and included them. They seemed happy with that, I recon the more you make it easy the happier they are. It might be worth telling them the main one that is cleared for all calibres you are asking for so they just use that for the application, the reason being, I was told it would slow down my application if they waited for all the land enquirys to come back. All they were really interested was having 1 bit of land suitable for all the cal

in afghanistan at the mo home soon
Operator replied to chris1wg's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Well done mate, we are all proud of our men and women serving out there. Keep safe and when you get back you can enjoy shooting without being fired back at! I love my escort semi auto, hopefully a fac tactical version will be joining it soon. -
If it helps, it was Peter and Denis that I spoke to. Both top chaps and very helpful. I think I just screwed the rear into the plastic, it's not come off or had any problems so far.
