  1. This might work, then again it's new and I'm computer illiterate.
  2. I got a front swivel which replaces the magazine tube cap from http://www.ukgunrepairs.co.uk/contact.htm They were really helpful tracking one down for me. Then I just added a screw in sling swivel to the bottom of the pistol grip on the stock. I'll try and work out how to add a photo for you.
  3. I've got one on my AI 7.62, on a Schmidt&Bender PM2 at work and it does seem to help with less stable shots eg: standing or otherwise unsupported. Prone on the bipod my cheek weld/head position is consistent anyway. Only one downside is that the opening button has fallen off when it was in a dragbag in the car and I can't find it. A bit disappointing considering it was bagged up safely in the boot and it should really be able to take a few knocks. I must get in contact with the company.
  4. Penetration is all very well but with pointed pellets the tend not to be very accurate. I would suggest a good domed pellet for all purposes. Webley Accupell are about the best out there but it's all down to personal choice/budget & how your gun likes to shoot with them. I agree, domed are the best all rounders, penatration is not as important as transfering energy. A pellet is just a remote hammer. The more energy dumped into the quarry the better. For close up use (5 - 15 yards) I use hollow points when shooting squirell, rats etc as anything else seems to pass straight through
  5. Sorry to revive an old post, I've tried searching with no luck. I'm thinking of getting a PCP, probably a Falcon mutlishot profile with bull barrel, what is the practical difference between the different bar pressure ratings? Obviously the size of the bottle relates to how much air it can hold, does a higher bar rating mean more as well? I'm not the most technical of people so a nice easy answer would be most appreciated! Does it matter what the bar rating of the gun is?
  6. Are you looking for a fast fire fun gun or more of a target pistol? I use a RWS C225 Co2 .177 which is a copy of the Sig 225 9mm pistol. It's good fun for rapid fire, practical pistol type shooting but not the most accurate in the world.
  7. Well done to both of you! I can't wait to take my boy out with me, he's a bit young at the moment but already he's well interested. It's great to see youngsters taught responsible gun handling, if only the general public had the same idea maybe our shooting sports would be better thought of in this country.
  8. I've got the 850 carbine which comes with the suppresor, I don't have any other rifles to compare it to but I hope my comments will be of some help. Pros: Easy to use, simply screw in airsource co2 cartridge and your ready to go. Compact, no problems lamping from a car. Quiet with suppresor. Inexpensive and due to the plastic stock no worries about scratches etc. Fun to shoot for plinking as well as hunting. Co2 cartridge lasts a long time in the gun without it being fired. Cons: Not the cheapest to run due to having to buy airsource co2
  9. Hello everyone, I live in london and am looking to get into recreational shooting and hunting. I'm a firearms officer in the Met so I get to shoot at work but I'm interested in doing more stuff away from the job. I currently just plink with my RWS C225 and a collection of GBB airsoft guns. I'm looking at a Umarex 850 Airmagnum as a way of easing the wife into me having more guns around before I go for a FAC and a fullbore rifle . If anyone has any experience of shooting clubs / gunshops in the london / kent area, your advice would be most welcome. Cheers
