  1. I bought a Saluki/Greyhound at a horse sale last year, nice pup, now 9 months old and a real athlete. Was told it was from a chap called Ginger. Coursing scene a long way from me, anyone know him?
  2. Breeding. Nature beats nurture every time. Terriers, lurchers, hounds there all the same, its all in the genes.
  3. Sound good mate, but they couldnt e further away, your in the north of scotland, im in the west of cornwall Cheers anyway
  4. Welcome to the site mate, what do you hunt?
  5. I didnt mean i wantd one for just ratting. My terrier has only taken rats because that is the only terrier work i have any expierience of, although i would like to dig to her, I am concerned that any mistakes i might make will affect her. I would like a sealyham to do all round work with but dont know if they would be suitable
  6. I was wondering if anyone knew of a working line line of these aound and where they are. Also what do people think as to their suitabillity, for a novice such as myself(Ive always ran lurchers but now have a 10 month old patterdale/border who is taking rats, and would like a second terrier) Any suggestions would be welcome!
  7. the collieis these afect will not be in any of us lurcher lads because only lassie collies have been afected by ivemec I have to disagree mate, ive known people personally who have lost border collies after coming into contact with it. Anyone know why it affects collies?
  8. nice dogs mate, What are they exactly?
  9. Ivomec can be very effective but for christs sake dont use it on anything with too much collie blood in it as the stuff is deadly to them for some reason For skin complaints in any breed I would suggest Camarossa ointment, can be bloody miraculous
  10. Just bought my tickets, see you there
  11. Going with the genaeral theme, you like one our the other. I wouldnt hve a dog, but thats because ive already got a lot of bitces, which suit me nicely and i cant be assed with separating them
  12. Mark-I WAS WRONG.It seems I have been brainwashed by the coursing around me.No excuse I know but there it is.I would like to thank you all for putting me straight. All apart from countryman who pissed me off at the start of the thread.Going back to the night in question ,I quess the greyhound was fit and the lurchers were not. Some of the greyhound boys will have heard of the coursing gent I refer to but name dropping is not my thing.I apologies for any aggressive language or name calling. Foxdropper- I feel all left out No hard feelings, you can buy me a pint sometime
  13. I dont beleive that a pure whippet has the stamina to be an out and out lamp dog Where are the fans of the out of fashion colliex a fine dog for the lamp, as many others must be able to confirm  Whippets -no stamina-Where do you think stamina comes from in a lurcher ,from the sighthound. All stamina is from this side of the cross. The bullX being the exception. Both whippet and greyhound have bull in thier make up. Greyhounds have bull in their make up? Ha ha ha very good, do you have a pedigree or are you just talking shite? I did not question the stamina of the Greyhound Its
  14. Cheers mate, was wondering about Redmill, seen the adverts in the weekly, will have to get the local feedstore to order it though. What sort of price is it?
  15. Sounds like some quality hunting, whats the breeding of those dogs then mate?
  16. Just wondering which dry feed people think is the best for working dogs? I have always used Chudleys working crunch, but have just switched to my local feedstores mix due to its higher protein(30%) In the summer, when the dogs are doing nothing they are put on a standard mix, which is a bit cheaper

  20. Are you saying that the lurcher is a better hare courser than the pure greyhound. I beleive the Saluki hybrid is the king of coursing dogs
