  8. you right to be careful i live right in the middle of where it was filmed and the new sgt wants nothing more than to really hammer a running dog man, he has a column in the local rag and does nothing but rant and rave about how scummy dog men are, virtually says all dog men are farm thieves. went into his police station for shotgun renewal and there is massive poster up with his crackdown priority list and top of it was poaching ?!
  9. i know mate its just so bloody annoying and all class based, i live right in the middle of where it was filmed and know for a fact the local hunt still hunts fox just the same as they used to, but you dont get the police after lord soanso or sir wotsit just helicopters 4*4 after joe bloggs out to catch a couple rabbits.
  10. did anybody watch the bbc 1 programme tonight in the yorkshire area, highlighting the "problem" of illegal hunting? the police showed of there new hightec infra red helicopter camera. anybody else think what a waste of time and money. Showed one report of lamping activity which the local poaching response team tried to attend but ran over a puncturing device set by the landowner ( nice communication !!) after calling for back up (another 4*4 and the helicopter) they eventually caught the illegall lamper only to find out he was shooting rabbits with full written permisson how much did that bal

why dont u just walk them? far more stimulating for them
  16. Just comeback to shooting after a few years and i used to manily wildfowl and rough shoot so i used my dads old aya no2 (a great gun) but its not really suited to regular clay shooting. I got about 600 max to spend on a nice gun, the gunsmith at the local club has recommended a webley and scott 900 series, a mirioku or a browning. I know its personal preference and gun fit just wondered if anybody has a view point or recommendation.
  17. Think the guy is telling stories never heard anything like that before, how many generations back does he recon? If you wanna go years and years back then you can say all english greyhounds have bull in them

  19. Went down to the local police station get my shotgun certificate renewed, and in the waiting area ther was a massive poster stating the top five things they aim to crack down on in my area this year, you know what number 1 was? not drug dealers, burglaries, lazy little s**ts intimidating people, no none of the above, running dogs was top! any member of public seeing running dogs on land should ring the emergency contact number! Have they nothing better to do!!!
  20. we had a top grade greyhound broke its leg 1st trial run for us, kept it of the track for a few months came back fitter and stronger than ever. Think it depends on the dog and how bad and where abouts the break was. Fingers crossed and good luck with the dogs recovery
  21. dam % of the genes, is this only true with 1st crosses because surely once you throw 3 or 4 different breeds into a litter you factors play a big role. Thanks for the info lads the cross looks to produce nice size dogs not to heavy but a bit more powerful than my 5/8saluki 3/8 greyhound bitch think my mind is made up when she breaks down next gonna cover her with my mates 3/4greyhound 1/4 bull. What you think of this proposed mating some peolpe on here have said stay away from bull blood unless you after big quarry.
