  1. have various saluki cross dogs and at the moment want to inject more speed into the breeding, own couple of track greyhounds but reluctant to but them across a bitch. Thinking of using a working whippet, but never had anything to do with them. What are your thoughts on the little dogs? toughness? speed? etc and what r the best bloodlines all adverts include sooty sam (r his lines the best or just a selling point?

Also 4 sale my brother has a litter of saluki greyhound pups outof litter sister to my bitch 1 dog and 1 bitch pup left think he's asking £250
  3. want a suitable stud dog to line my 5/8saluki 3/8greyhound bitch, located in the north. Have access to a good 3/4greyhound 1/4bull. never bred a litter before so any comments on this cross or other local sires would be appreciated. Some peope love a dash of bull others say they smash up to easy in our area.
  4. "dont know a real lot about the bitches breeding " Niether does Ginger.................................... Thanks for the contructive comment, my background is in pure track greyhounds, my bitch is the first lurcher i owned saw an advert for saluki bred pups for sale and bought the one i liked, she has done what was asked of her, and a couple people enquired about pups off her i wanted abit more info about her brood before i breed her so i know what to look for in a sire. I must of course apologise for my ignorence in not havin been born knowing everything about everything.
  5. my bitch is out of ginger french's katie, dont know a real lot about the bitches breeding so any info on gingers bitch be it her quality on the ield or her breeding would be great
  6. what saluki bred stud dogs are around at the minute? also is it easy to get access to the to breeding because i know the dog world is a close knit community. but like i said before can talk about pure bred greyhounds all day but new to the world of coursing dogs so dont wanna pretend to be something im not and look like a fool, but do want to put something good to my bitch rather than the local bitsa lurcher.
  7. just wanted to introduce the next generation, my perfect little boy charlie born 2.09am sunday morning, lets hope that he can still wander across the felds with his terriers and lurcher in years to come.
  8. know hes at stud now but what do you guys think of calonna striker?
  9. Dog broke its hock came back for last years derby trials but never quite got back to what he was, looks like he may be a hit at stud the pups morton and sava have hitting the tracks are really starting to fly.
  10. Best bet would be get a dog that has had a few races and take it round the flaps, learn my your mistakes then venture into getting a sapling but its far easier to start with a dog that knows a bit.
  11. Anybody got thoughts on whos gonna win this years english greyhound derby? another westmead maybe?
  12. Thanks for the help anybody know anything about ratchets breeding
  13. Regardless of how many races Top Honcho has raced or won there is no desputing his record for siring top class dogs. A dog don't get to be Champion UK sire 2001 through to 2007 and champion Irish sire 2002 through to 2007 for nothing. He sired Droopys Scholes http://greyhound-data.com/d?i=671218 Who i have a bitch from, Just take a look at his race stats, very impresive. Clip If mentioning his top offspring think you should start with droopys vieri (a top stud in his own right) and tyrur ted( an awesome racer who still won big in his later years)
  14. he did race more times than that if you look at a number of the top dogs they only list certain races, anyway track dogs often breed based on bloodlines and known nicks between certain strains this is especially the case with brood bitches some never even reach the track. anyway back to the original question didnt really understand it if you word it different prob can help when it comes to greyhounds.
  15. no didny pay that kinda money for a pup was £200
  16. thanks for the warm welcome
  17. is that the black and white bitch that had a litter whith lucky? not one hundred percent sure but think it was a black and white bitch, when was this litter whelped and did ginger have the pups at his spot in lincs?
  18. Not personally but a family member did get it from his kennels
  19. alright, just joined the forum was brought up in countryside and started shooting at young age started working and got involved with some lads who owned racing greyhounds, bought my first a number of years ago and still got a couple racing at Hull. Got hooked on running dogs and eventually bought a 5/8 3/8 saluki greyhound bitch to mooch about with. Just got couple of terrier pups on go first time involved with little dogs but best mate has always had them and fancied a piece of the fun that can be had with them. Cheers and will hopefully speak to you all soon MARK
