If you are walking the pup over ground with any cover ,brambles,gorse, nettle's, heather,etc,the dog will naturally want to investigate.As for age,there's no hard and fast rule's,some dog's are game earlier than others,usually at least 6 month's before you should show them a rat.Seen young dog's ruined by being thrown in at the deep end to early,one good bite in the wrong place,and the dog might throw the towel in before he's even started.hth,Bill

Hope you lad's can sort this one out.Fair play to you DS for offering the dog a new home. What about if we all had whip round on the forum to arrange transport for the dog? I'd be willing to throw a fiver in the kitty to get thing's started.Bill

Not sure about breeding dog's purely for profit.Suppose you could argue that if someone puts the time in,to fine tune a certain stamp/type of dog,why shouldn't they reap the reward's?This argument will go on forever,from my own point of view,all i can say is i have a Hancock's bitch,who is 7 years old and has worked all Quarry.She doe's what i want,so i can't put the mans dog's down.I speak as i find.jmo Here's my bitch,sired by Alfie.

Spot on lucky.I was on some permission last weekend,the lad who owned the land told me he'd let a mate's son do a bit of rough shooting on the land.Met him a while later,shooting at everything he was.When he seen my terrier's,he said "you wont be needing them mate" and showed me his pocket full of ssg cartridge's.Another f*****g Rambo,no f*****g idea about the countryside,just get a shotgun get a ticket and a bit of permission and away you go.I know there are responsible shooter's out there, but some of them want a cartridge up there arse.

Looks mean f**k all,but i'd give the dog a chance.If he doe's go to someone else, i hope he get's a good home and get's a chance.My mate had a lurcher off some p***y's,they said it was "no good" once it was properly fed,and not getting a beating every five minute's,it became a solid steady worker.Like they say,you get out what you put in.

Eggs that are cooked,contain only low density cholesterol ( the good stuff).When i was boxing in the 's,it was all red meat this and red meat that.You wouldn't see a boxer touching it now,except very occasionally.When i want cheap protien for meself,its baked bean's,egg white's,tuna and sardines oh and the odd bag of nut's.F**k me i forgot we were talking about dog's.

Feckin horrible disease,i do rabbit control on a local golf course,every spring it's teeming with healthy rabbit's,then about september the mixy starts showing again.Don't know why it follow's this pattern,but it's been the same for the last 4 years.
