  1. i use straw for the hutch, they do their business on concrete in the run. paper doesnt keep much heat in and the ticks will be from the cats. HTH Bill
  2. The way i went on ? My f****n daughter was holding my terrier when the other dog grabbed its leg,and having kept terriers and lurchers for 30 odd years i know the difference between a scratch and a puncture wound. What is Anti Spectic spray ?

  4. Well,i'm now £43 lighter and the dog looks ridiculous! Vets want to give the wound a few days before deciding whether to stitch/staple due to the possibility of infection under the wound,so i could be even lighter in the pocket by the weekend. At this point in time i won't be taking the matter up with the Police,i have passed on a message through a third party, that i want reimbursing for the vet fee's and i've also pointed out that should the dog cross my path while i'm walking the other dogs,i will kick it to a standstill My terrier bitch has been out ratting with many strange dogs many ti
  5. Thanks for all the replies,i'm going to sleep on it and see what the damage is at the vets tomorrow.I know when i catch up with the owner they will say "its never done that before, its great with people and kids" but my wife and daughter are lucky it didn't grab one of them when they tried to seperate them, and i'm going to be lumbered with a vet bill when i get in from work tomorrow, and all they did was walk the dogs at the same time and in the same place they have for years.
  6. Thanks for your concern John.My daughters not in the least bothered, but my wife's a bit shakey.Thankfully the wife and daughter are ok,and hopefully the terrier will be out and about again soon (she'll be sore tomorrow though).Bill
  7. My wife and daughter have just returned home after exercising the dogs,my terrier bitch came limping in with a hole either side of her front leg after being bitten by a Staffy that wasn't wearing a collar, wasn't on a lead, and was with two young kids of about 9 or 10 years of age. The Staffy had ran towards my wife and the dogs, the terrier bitch being a protective type had confronted the Staffy and a fight ensued.A young lad who was playing football helped my daughter to pull the dogs apart, but after she lifted the terrier, the Staffy jumped up and locked onto the terriers leg causing the dama

    Cider

Sorry mate i dont shop in Tesco's so can't comment, but if your good lady can find a "Morrisons" i'd highly recommend "Kingston Press" and "Merrydown" these are nice ciders and not the tasteless high in alcohol crap that comes in blue bottles. Both are reasonably priced and both have a good "kick"
  9. Sorry to hear this news C/G keep your chin up ,times a good healer.Bill
  10. I had McDermot winning 7 rounds,Fury 2,and 1 even. Another talker,he was out of steam by the end of the 4th,did nothing but throw the odd flurry and hold for the rest of the fight, and for the ref to give it him 98-92 !!!
  11. I've a picture of myself and some famous fella in a kilt.
  12. Should have been done at 2-3 days old but you can have them removed now,it will need to be done by a vet and the dog will be sore for a while after. My beddiexwhippet bitch still has her dew claws and has had no problems.
  13. Using another Beddiexwhippet isn't always straightforward, pups could throw either way,and there would be a danger of Copper Toxicosis if any of the parent dogs were carriers. No reason why a straight whippet wouldn't keep the size down and add speed. All the best whatever route you take,Bill
  14. Beat me to it Riohog, took the words out my mouth. My old man always said "pick a pup with a long tail or its arse in the air"
  15. First Lurcher i remember was my dads 1st cross collie/grey "Laddie".The dog died in 1970,but my dad was still talking about the dog until he died in 2001.
  16. Look to the right of your post,it will say OPTIONS click it then in the drop down menu click STANDARD.
  17. Lightforce 170 (striker) i use mine with a 17ah battery, and a pair of 7ah's wired in tandem. Have had some 3-4 hour sessions and the 17ah has never gone flat on me,same with the pair of 7ah's but they are on a shoulder harness and easier to carry.

    spiders!!!!!!!

You bunch of fanny's scared of a wee spider.Must be honest they dont bother me,but if i thought they had the same potency as a funnel web or a black widow id give them a very wide birth.
  19. My bitch i've had from 7 weeks of age, she's never been mistreated and has had the best of everything, yet she is a bag of nerves around strangers and other dogs.Put a collar and slip on her and she is a different animal altogether.
  20. My bitch is 18.5 tts,she is very quick, has great stamina, can turn like she's on rails, but on uneven ground at night she struggles, and thats because she can't see the quarry. Put two marks on a stick, one at 19 inches and another at 24-25.Crouch down and place your eyes next to the first mark and then the second, you'd be amazed at the difference.
  21. Fantastic ferreting dogs, but a little short in the leg to be great lamping dogs.Be warned, they can be very headstrong, some yap, some hunt on,and once they decide they want something you'll have a hard time changing there mind.If you know what you are doing and put the time into the dog you wont be dissapointed.
  22. Did the very same thing a couple of years ago.Was strimming some brambles around a large warren, felt my hand getting hot and looked down to see several of the bloody thing stinging me.Needless to say i kept a cool head and ran away screaming like a little girl, nearly flattened my lad trying to run past him
