    By law the must be either in the rabbit tunnel, or a artificial one...... find the rabbit sets, set them in the holes the fit in, and block up the restIf he is trapping squirrels weasels etc he don't want to be setting them in rabbit warrens....in a woodland just make a tunnel out of what's at hand or use wire mesh.

    That is a very good question,legally I don't know it could be poaching because the rabbit was on someone elses land techically even though it was snared on my side. I'm not sure on that one obviously I would wait for the rabbit to come back on my side of the fence before I dispatched it ?

    If I can get to the holes I will use Fenn traps if not I will use bodygrips or snares on the runs. These rabbits in the pics were trapped using BG on their runs coming through the fence,I hadn't got permission on the other side of the fence so couldn't get to the warrens. The bodygrips must be set in a tunnel man made or natural.

    Good for you remy listen and learn,you can't learn everything from books I was lucky to be taught by Woodga himself,there used to be some good snarers on this site but alas times change for the worse?

    On a small warren yes set in the best holes and block up the other holes,on a big warren set as many fenns as poss in the best holes,to be honest most holes you can set a fenn in if too tight I just dig down a bit so trap fits perfect,you can have a mound of soil at the entrance over the trap but not a pit where the trap is set low a rabbit will not jump into a pit but will go over a mound

    I've had it a couple of times when I first started with fenns I just make sure when the trap shuts it's close to the roof of the burrow so when trap goes off the rabbit is forced up if that makes sence.

    Mk6 are the ones that we use in the UK for rabbits

    SM I dig a bed out in the burrow floor,to place the trap into so it sits flush with floor then I lightly cover with soil so rabbit does know it's there.

    Blimey glad I don't live in Holland then thanks for that mate very interesting read. 410 is adequote for rabbits and other vermin upto about 25yds. So is it the bunny huggers as you say that as banned most of the hunting? Think we should be thankful in the UK ?

    How come your not allowed to trap animal in the Netherlands? Are you allowed to control pest ie shooting etc?

    The fox was shot with .410 shotgun back of the head,I put the fox on the side that didn't have much blood and brain.

    Ratbuster when the fenns are set in the right place ie the underhang of the burrow entrance 9/10 the rabbit is caught around neck/rib area,as always though when using traps or snares there is the chance of the odd foul catch no matter how careful you are.

    Went out yesterday to set a few fenns and snares for rabbits also took couple of fox snares,went back just had it was getting dark had a couple of rabbits in the fenns,went back this morning had couple more rabbits and a nice dog fox buzzing me tits of at the moment? I'm happy,farmers happy but the misses isn't cause I didn't get her a hare ? Fox was still alive,dispatched with shotgun before pic was took. Four nice meals
