  1. just had a reply off the bbc Dear Mr Salisbury Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'Countryfile' broadcast on 6 December 2009. I understand you're unhappy with a report on hare coursing. 'Countryfile' aims to cover all issues affecting the British countryside, and this particular film was about wildlife crime. Hare coursing is currently illegal, and was presented as such. It's not for 'Countryfile' to make value judgements on what should or should not be a crime. I appreciate you feel quite strongly about this issue and I'd like to assure you that I have registe
  2. i hear alot about jack russels lakies and patt's but never hear any thing about fox terriers, is it because they are more KC dogs now or do some people still have work any on the sly? my uncle breed some wire haired fox terriers for a few years and they were nasty f***ers. don't know much about terriers just wanted to know from more experienced people. cheers

  5. well it did run it over with the front and the back tyres if thats what you mean. i dodn't think its fair to use two cars doesn't give the rabbit enought of a chhance, i'm not an animal.
  6. Well happy with this topic, thought i had a short whippet, he's only 20". Thanks all. this is going to be his 1st propper season, know what you mean fence_hopper mines like a mini bull grey.
  7. thanks for the offer but these rabbits turn fast i think that that cross as good as it might be on the bears might be too heavey for the bunnies, think i'm going to cross her to a saxo, after a little more acceloration and turning.
  8. my car got her first today, she's a little hard tyred but retrived it. looking forward to the season starting
  9. have a look into a saluki/whippet, run my whippet with my grandparents saluki/whippet. he much faster and better on the turn but in the woods whippet can't get near it. that odd way they run seams to help with the ground cover, fallen branches and the uneven surface. J.M.O
  10. two in october. o ye them pups look nice in your topic, that one pup got a propper EBT head on it.
  11. lovley little whippet,is it nevedith lines? Yeh about 4 gen back, some more
  12. Thought i'd put up some pictures up of my whippet. what you think?
  13. Who just lets their dog chew on a rabbit. By the looks of it you shouldn't be lamping them jack rabbits because most of them just don't run. You should come to the UK and see how its done.
  14. my ped. whippet looks like that. i reckon they lied, but thats a crackin looking dog.
  15. If i my money comes in i'll defo buy one off you, but doupt it will be here. well gutted.
  16. could you stick up pics of the dog pups that are left, where are you?
  17. Don't know about one dog but my grandfather took his deerhounds up to scotland and get them in his youth.
  18. i'm thinking of putting a bull cross over my saluki or a deerhound, thought they might make alright crosses.
  19. I want to put a grey over my saluki bitch but can't find any close by (i'm in shropshire town called market drayton if any one who reads this can help), but i do have a deerhound of my aunts i could put over her, any one have thoughts, would appreciate opinions. Thanks
  20. i'd say it was less about muscles and more about joints.
  21. KC can be a little harder to train but doesn't mean that they won't do the job, just have to try a little harder. With the dogs trying to clime in the jackets well if your soft on any dog it will be soft, i ignore him if he's being overly soft and he just deals with it after a wile. The only prob i have with my whippet is his selective hearing any one els have this problem with there dogs?
  22. My uncle was selling his for 375 but had one dog pup left, so sold him to me for 150. Ring some of these people up and tell them you won't pay 350 and if they got some that they can't get rid of they might drop the price, because whippets don't usually sell as well this time of year. No harm in asking and leave your details just incase they change there minds. My uncles mate has 16 pups he can't sell. But he's a bit far south for you.
  23. i got a kc. whippet dog off my uncle, didn't expect much coming from strong kc blood, but he's a cracking little dog. He catches my aunts deerhounds and my grandparents whippet/saluki. i keep him with a lab/german shepherd which is very boistorous and strong but i think it has done him good, not scared of any thing and can take care of him self, he's a bull/grey in a whippets body. With the cold it doesn't bother him once he sees or smells rabbits, and i got a jacket for him for when he's standing around in the cold. Once he's in the house he's on his been bag chair on his back with his legs in
