  1. yes i know good name in it i have had to split my hob from my jill since december,i felt so guilty doing it, i put a few toys & a nice wooly jumper that had shrunk in the wash, he sleeps in that now in the middle of the hutch, he doesnt even use the nest box i made for him, hoping to put him back with the girls next weekend, now that the implant has kicked in he should be coming out of season, i miss all the dooking from them all playing, you can also like another poster said bring him inside for a few hours it helps releive some stress & it is amusing to say the least,

  4. just a quick update on my Hob & Jill, My jill is still in season i have included a pic for anyone who doesnt know what a jill in season looks like. The Hob is still showing signs of agreesion & being in season,placed him with the girls & they didnt stand a chance, so no real change in him, early days yet 1 week passed will update next week regards john
  5. have you noticed any peg holes ?? are you keeping quite approaching warren ?? how do you know bugs is at home ?? are you quite & still whilst ferrets are working, ?? i have had same problems & some days they dont bolt as well especially if its been ferreetd hard ,they are less likely to bolt if they know a welcome committee is waiting

  7. you can try the ferretone route,or just use a bit of olive oil then every day when you go to the hutches to see them have the bottle of ferretone ready ,open the cage & put some on the back of your hand & let them all lick it off, when they are interested in the ferretone ( 10 seconds & they will be hooked) pick the ferret up which is nipping ( put others back in cage !! )& pour some ferretone on your hand again, i usually sit down & free the other hand up & stroke the ferret, if it tries to nip you try not to put the ferret down , as this will only enforce the fa

  9. there is a guy on the other forum called shaun ( the one where you ask questions & they make you feel so small for asking ) who breeds these micro/greyhound ferrets he has had orders for the last 3 years & getting £25 each, falconers prefer the smaller type, apparently they are lightning fast will work all day
  10. thanks, i asked loads of questions at the vets but seeing as i am a male,i forgot will keep you all updated, implant hole has healed now scab fell off today, he is still making all the usual noises towards females & they are still teasing him, he can smell 3 of them poor lad must be doing his head in his yellow coat is still visible as you can see hopefully he should lose it within next couple of weeks

I am not sure how long before the jills vulva goes back to normal if its been implanted .. i might ask a lady who had a jill done a few weeks back & see if hers swolen after implant cheers thanks for that kay, Adrian at Ashleigh vets Mcr wasnt able to speak to me today ,i am ringing him monday to ask how long before it will go down or if this is even normal i have tried getting onto (fff) but cant for some reason as i know a few people have had their ferrets implanted & posted about it, my diary will be like a dissertation, i may even bind it lol the vet did say that when use

  13. Day 3 update on implants from wednesday Hob , noticed yellowish coat reducing & testicles shrinking, still showing some ineterst in the girls,change in pooh colouring, eating as normal Jill, vulva staring to swell , anyone know how long before she will go back to normal ? regards john

Morning people, just to update on these implants, yesterday after 2 weeks of debating what to do, i took my Hob & Jill to the vets to get their bits done, well me being a chicken i didnt get then snipped as planned , so i went for implants, the charge for 2 was £37 each which should last 18 months, so i am told, i will be keeping a diary of the 2 i have implanted just to let people know the changes that they go through & how long they will last, it took the vet about 15 mins & i was on my way home ferrets awake none the wiser, the needle is bigger than the microchip one & has l

  17. They relied on a very flickery Led display and some funny noises to gauge the depth . As far as functionability went they were worse than some of the early attempts to build locators in the sixties and early seventies . Deben had to return to MK1 technology and reinstate the sensitivity knob to create the Mk3 before too many folk started complaining . & apparently they ate batteries like they was going out of fashion
  18. mk1 box will pick up m1 collars & mk3 collars, mk3 reciever will only pick up mk3 collars wouldnt touch a mk2 so dont know mate, good result today for you ,,let you know how i get on regards john

  20. hi phil was good to put a name to a face , pleasure doing buisiness with you, ferrets have settled in well, all dooking, my hob is in his element, he is split from them now i just let them meet & greet them moved him into his own hutch all 3 jills settled in asleep now, will let you know how we get on tomorrow bunny bashing, regards & thanks john

  23. i use frontline spray, i spray it on a pair of surgical gloves then massage it into the ferret, works a treat, regards john I could be wrong about this but you must make sure it is the frontline for cats that you use, but as I said not to sure, cheers sorry forgot to mention for cats as the 1 for dogs is too strong, cheers william
