  1. yes a saluki does give you stamina, but it is one of the thickest dogs on the planet, and serious pot fillers cant be thick, i would love you saluki lads on serious note see what happens when your out with the ferrets all day and then the lamp in the night, salukis are no match for the colliex, mark,so just move on Your first few words would have sufficed ....but im not saying that a saluki can/cant match what you want from your collie x as regards to ferreting/obediance ect....But how do you think a collie x would fair against a saluki in the salukis terratory? ie the Fenns?.....Differ
  2. How anybody can argue that any dog compares to a saluki's stamina is beyond me!
  3. Corretc on both counts ......Good luck with him Graham....and dont forget to give me a bell when he's hunting and we will have a day out

  7. Il be honest Lucky....i hate going out when there isnt a body in the back to sort the dogs out...have done it plenty of times but i always try for a lad or two in the back ( dont take that the wrong way Darcy )
  8. I agree with you Willy!.....The Motor,Dogs and People all have to work as a team for it to be succesful...and it takes Balls to sit out on that window ledge ...glad im the driver
  9. The old 1800 subaru estates in my eyes where better than the legacy...they seemed to have more ground clearance and seemed a bit more heavy duty....plus they wasnt constant four wheel drive!
  10. No...would have had him on last week if it wasnt for the wheaton hitting the screen had one bang to rights as well but nobody in the back to get them out and the weaton is as dingy as they come! Going out tomorrow to see what we can do! Il give you a bell mate through this week when i get a screen sorted!

  12. Got a set of bridge stone "Mud n Snow" rally tyres of ebay...£10 a piece....put them on last week....need a new windscreen though as daves wheaton thought it could go straight through it whilst we were driving summat last week ....just been out earlier tonight to have a drive round local to see whats down ect....been trotting "blue" now for a couple week so i think i might have a venture out tomorrow
  13. As you know Lucky il be doing a bit this season with a subaru.....Didnt do much driving last season...but prior to that been using the subaru's for years and was religiously out every friday through out the seasons..the adrenaline is awesome even before the dogs are out of the motor..and you are at the scene instantly to view the spectacle and not just walking over to a carcas ..You dont seem to get as much tackle now a days as we used to but you still get more tackle than you would on foot but like you say thats prob down to the amount of people now in the game!... There is alot of lads that

    MAN ABOUT DOG

Excellant film....our lass must have watched it 20 times and still laughs as much as the first time she watched it!
  15. Too much treadmilling can make a dog muscle bound....and can affect the dogs turning ability!
  16. same in plymouth! and atleast with the bull you know it wont squeel if itgets bit back. Like any other cross....you get good and bad in both?......Bull x for me but it is a MUST that it can do foxes single handed....not worth a shite to me if its a doubling up dog but each to their own .....agree with the "Crack pot from Royston" that us Yorkshire boys put them through their paces
  17. Im working class....and a few year ago bought 2 well bred pups for £800 the pair...never regretted it and would probably have spent that going through bin lickers!
  18. Excelant advice from Jasper!.......Build it to his spec and you wont go far wrong!
  19. --> QUOTE(john b @ May 31 2007, 09:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> did you see that owl grab the fox on the arse ? Who needs a golden eagle Never put the ginger bugger off though

  21. got one of them its a good lamp but want a tighter beam, the idea is that a tighter beam will help the dog pinpoint rabbits better do the lightforce rage have a tighter beam? i mite try the cluson with the filter kit or even bodge something up to tighten the beam. (oooops that first one was on my mates acount) You can adjust the beam on the Lightforce! IMO best lamp you can buy!
  22. Good Luck with the pup's hope they turn out to be Good un's for you
  23. Am i right in believing "Traveller" died in a hunting related death?....and was owned by J.S from Liverpool?
  24. Tyson why do you need a "older" dog to bring your pups on?.....well bred dogs like them in my experiance dont need showing by others as such....and if im right they have killed 2 in january?....so they know the basic to the game!
