  1. Hi, First kill to the Air Arms TX200HC -- the Bonnie & Clyde Edition one -- from the garden. Rabbit taken at 15 yards using Air Arms Field 4.52:
  2. And a superb choice of rifle, if I may say too
  3. Excellent shooting! What lamp are you using and are you using any filters?
  4. Great write-up and great shooting guys! Really look forward to the video. This week I take delivery of my AA TX200HC which is being tuned right now by Bonnie&Clyde. Great stuff.
  5. Well done -- great shooting!
  6. I know it's bad -- but this one has a limp and I felt a bit sorry for it.
  7. I'd just reiterate the point about the sound caused by pellet impact. Even a very far shot for a 12 ft.lb rifle at .177 can cause a hell of a crack when lead hits skull, far noisier than my HW100K during the firing cycle. May is the best time for shooting rabbits from my limited experience; they're less twitchy and more likely to come out. By the time the late summer comes, survival of the fittest comes into play and invariably that means only the ones who are generally much more careful and circumspect are around.

  9. Cheers .. another interesting "factoid" the pellet took .22 seconds to reach the target.
  10. Yes, I'm left handed but the rifle stock is ambidextrous. I wouldn't attempt a shot with a video sight attached through the scope as that adds significant amounts of error -- one, though, on top of the scope "riflecam" might be good however, but I think they're about £150 new.
  11. I would stress that my rifle / pellet / scope combination is awesomely accurate, there was zero wind so deviation wasn't an issue horizontally for a wounding shot and, clearly, I took a good amount of time for it. But it is an absolutely maximum distance under ideal conditions. Oddly enough, I'm more confident up to that distance with the HW100 than with the FAC, the Weihrauch is that good. Here is the rifle -- which has been tuned for further consistency and shot-count: For the geeks amongst us, at 48 yards the pellet is travelling at 570fps with a retained energy value of 7.3 ft
  12. The book advertised here -- Advanced Airgun Hunting -- when you go to the website it's advocating taking geese with airguns? What on earth is this author thinking? Even FAC air would be struggling... From the blurb... Interested in Airguns? This is the book for you. Unlike all other books on this subject Darcy breaks down the barriers with detailed accounts of taking a huge array of quarry with a variety of airguns. From grouse to geese and from rats to rabbits, all quarry is discussed and methods elaborated upon. There are scores of good photos to illustrate the stories and this book
  13. Wow -- what a super bit of land for rabbits ... perfect territory. Great shooting too. Some of my best hunting was with my old Air Arms S410.
  14. Cheers again but my secret weapon (apart from the brilliant rifle) is the laser rangefinder. I'd say it has improved my hunting by at least 50% because it takes one massive variable out of the firing sequence. It only cost £ too new.
  15. Cheers chaps -- probably my best shot to date...tricky as you'll appreciate and very nearly abandoned it. Helped though by zero wind
  16. Hello, This evening I was out with the HW100 and thought I'd share a very satisfactory shot (well for me and an airgun anyway). On my estate (not my personal estate!) this evening I spotted a rabbit and pinged him with the laser rangefinder...I knew he was far away and it was confirmed at 48 yards. I positioned the shooting stick with the rifle on board but these sticks are a double-edge sword ... they hold the rifle but wobble like mad. Very annoying. Anyway, I dropped the stick and decided to do it standing as bushes were in the way. You can see the terrain here: The rabbit
  17. Give Ben Taylor a call at Ben Taylor and Sons. He has some delrin seals, much better.
  18. Contact Geoffrey at nightvisionsupplies.co.uk and he'll supply you with a dedicated mount for the laser which will allow you to attach the laser to the scope forward of the turrets.
  19. Yes -- getting hold of the manufacturer can be, let's say, "challenging".
  20. Yes, it attaches to the back like this:
  21. Probably the Cobra Merlin with the 90mW Dipol L3 Laser option. Should give you a reasonable image out to yards. An ordinary laser operates at a particular wavelength ... an IR laser operates at a particular wavelength of between 780nm and 900nm. There are two types of illuminators for night vision: lasers and LEDs. The former pack a lot more punch and are lighter, but a bit more expensive. The LED illuminators generally give a "cleaner" and "clearer" flood of IR light out to ranges of about 50 yards, depending on the power, but have considerably less range. Talking of power, a 90mW laser
  22. Hi, Price is £999. Here are some pictures through the Elite taken on a camera. Images genuinely representative of the image, except in RL the image is sharper as I had the shakes a bit holding the camera and rifle steady. In this first picture, the tree is 45 yards away and the bushes at the back ~55 yards away. In the second picture, a ####**ing huge rat appeared -- at least I think it was a rat. I\'m afraid the pic is a bit blurry, but you get the idea. Scope at x6 (plus x1.7 for the native magnification of the unit, so x8). Laser at widest possible beam setting. http://i152.p
