thats ate but i have a few young dogs comeing along for next season so il put some time into them hopefully they will make it

i the rest mite do him good his not that old their are older ones still at it.just his nose took alot of stick over the years at the foxes and time his left up i think.

i was out tismorning checking a few spots tryed an earth droped my russel dog flew in an was off straight away then the game pushed on a bit broke throw and had to trench on a bit got him handy in under a bush.he done grand.went to the next spot and dug it with my old red dog i left the camrea in the jeep for this dig took a few of the frist one.my red dog is geting to old for it i could see it in him today i had to nearly carry him back to the jeep time to retire him for good i think he has served me well.

an other .the wheather was frosty this morning but the sun came out around 11 didnt get much snow this side of the country at all.

was out tismorning for a few hours work was called off so i rang the lads and we went for a look.we went to an earth a found in the summer thats on a steep bank along a railway.droped the black dog i give my mate rob.h who has just joined the site.anyway the dog flew in and was off baying staright away left him for a while and got a mark of 1.1 started to dig was alot of roots and stone it was in under a tree but it was handy when we got a start.broke through took out black dog and let in my young wheathen bitch who i had out for a walk she had a bit of a job he was up under a root but she do

i was always a patterdale man but haveing a russel for a while and been working him i would consider them if you get one off good stuff just as good.so i suppose a russel off good stuff would be a nice one to start off with. -
most of the time it is one hole to get dog and fox out.then the odd time i mite break through and the dog mite have phushed on a bit then i mite have to dig a second hole or ternch on . some lads dont give the dog a chance to settle and start to dig to early then they have holes all over the place and plus they probaly as you asked have shit dogs that cant hold the game .i myself give them pilty of time before i dig if i know the earth could be tiet.but their is always the chance of a second hole mite not be the dogs fault.

you will no when you take her out of the earth alive and look at her dosent take much to know.i myself will stop at the end of this month and if i can help it dont kill any from janury on thats if the dog dosent have to much done to them and i havent been asked to move them.thats just what i do everyone has their own way of doing things that works for me.

i have heard of stroys of old hunting lads about grey foxs hear in ireland that where biger then the red fox but alot of you know most of the older hunters love talking shit and telling stroys not them all but some.the only thing i have come across is diffrent scades of red on the foxs from a dark red to a real light nearly browny colour.their is some big foxes out their i only started to bringing a camrea this season because last season i dug the biggest dog fox i have ever seen and had no camrea would be nice to get a picture of a grey fox.
