    lets hope its succesful enough to be repatable !! might have to go with a small gutting knife in future as everyone seems to want them !! i will do some bits on the ilistraightion blank i have , im going to change the profile of it and generaly piss about with it but will take piocs they might help you guys !

    well just done half hour on you tube and learned all about gun fit , guess what its 2" to short for me !! now i need to work out how the lengthen it , its a shame its a synthetic stock version i could have just added some nice wood to it . im looking down over the rib rather than along it . might have a usable gun once this is sorted . then switch chokes and up loads looks like il be a few steps closer to hitting things rather than waisting cartradges .

    thank you fellas !! stock fit i would say the stock is to short !! feels unbalenced , unfortunatly this is an early model of escort with no stock shims or anything . il try to get some help with it , thank you again .

    you want all the grinding done before for the heat treating if you working with hand tools , i would send it sharp because you gonna strugle to remove metal after heat treat . 400 grit is where you want it before heat treating if you shooting for mirror finnish !

    gun fit could be the issue i dont get the same sight picture when i point it i think im shooting high with it , if so where is the poor fit ?

    hello lads im back from a long break from shotgun shooting iv got a hatsan escort 12g i cant hit shit with it ha ha , im better with my 410 !! anyway its multi choke and iv had the full choke in and some poor gamebore 6 30g in it and the preformance is shite !! i used to be able to hit things hard at 50 55 yards easy when i was younger but with this i cant work out leads etc . anyway what chokes you guys got in and what loads you shooting on mixed days with crows and pigeons ? look forward to your replys ps asking for permmission is horrible i did 15 miles and 25 farms last week in one

    The metals used in my knives have been test by many people using them. Has anyone actually really tested midnights knives, to say if their great or crap. They look the part, but can they handle the work. Stock removal is great method of making knives, as you should know! The really important aspect is metal quality and hardening process. I don't want a knife to just look pretty it has to work. As for epoxy, their is obviously more types out there than you know off mr midnight. But I didn't want permanent scales, so no worries there what the hell are you on about ??? dont want perma

    cheers mate , thats the new plan , gotta raise funds to mpay for forge time under the power hammer iv managed to organise the use of on a hirr basis . things will improve rapid with that little beauty at my disposal .. gotta get a new forge made asap to !

    ray and alan have some retirment plans i think !! i bet you could get a pattern welded knife made with meteric iron for that price now thats a collectors peice ! the wood is gash on them i think , on alan woods website he expects you to use them and let them patina !!

    ok a few more words on the blanks themselfs . they currently have 3mm small holes and 6mm large holes , however after heat treating a small amount of scale will have built up in the hole reducing the size by about .25mm so id look for 5.5mm large pins and drill bit , and 2,5mm small pins if you want to use them . the other option is to temper the blade in the kitchen oven for a coulpe of hours and leave it in there to cool with the oven this should have softened the thin area where the laser has cut the holes as it seems to have heat treated them and they dont drill well , i cant guarente y

    ok gents the long wait is over . its time to do the compatition we discussed months ago . there are 8 places available in this one as that all i have spare . prices for entry is £15.50 each . for that you get , one laser cut blank in o1 tool steel a fraction over 4.5mm thick in the anealed state (still soft so you can work with hand tools ) the price also includes heat treating , tempering and return post to you once done .when you happy post to me i will heat treat and temper return post . closing date will be one month from tommorow so 6th december !

    where did i discredit your talent? i didn't, why would i ask someone whom i thought had no talent to make something for me? i wouldn't. i'm not doing anyone a favour, i wanted 2 custom made knives for hunting use, i wanted to pay money for them. thats how business works. and as far as attitude goes, mine is just fine, i think asking a bladesmith to make a blade in a particular design is perfectly reasonable thing to do.# now thats over i think you need to pull your head out of your arse, your not the only person in the world who makes knives. neither is s.mitchell. just as a note to end

    sorry coon boy im taking for ever , half have handles glued and pinned the others just need the glue in a few hours off being able to sheath them , two hand forged to from a friend , there as near as damn it clones of each other at this stage 2 small 2 big. mosaic lanyard look well to . but you first on the list so nothing get done till there finnished . my bloody eye is horible i can hear a noise in my ears when bright light is in my eye it sounds like the sea ?? its really weird . iv taken a loan and bout a very expensive but from now on essential peice of kit called the trend airsheild

    thanks fellas , im not finnished yet just some time to think and come out fighting . iv found a power hammer and can use it as much as i want , im going to blend the damascus and stockremoval knives more and unfortunatly charge what they cost , if i end up with a ton of blades so be it, i will do the show circuit , gun shops etc etc . but that will all be in the new year because iv to much invested in this to just stop !! so game on iv had to have the day off today as i have a ceramic bead that came of the grinder white hot hit me in the pupil of my left eye , iv had it sergicaly remove
