Is the farmer going round with a tweleve bore when your not there?
-
For 12ftlb then .177 for me. I saw the light a long time ago. For 12ftlb you have got to hit the spot regardless of cal and the flatter trajectory of the .177 helps all things being equal.

Subs will cycle in a 10/22 with a bit of fettling work. An improvement on the 10/22 action would be a stainless volquartsen or AMT, but then you are getting costly.

Hi my monies on accupell fouling the barrel with lead/metal deposits, they are notorious for it. Try cleaning with a pull through and some wd40 on some napier cloth. Then just shoot jsb and see how they settle down. Another possibility is a duff tin of pellets if this is a new tin you have just started to use. Solution there would be to go back and try an earlier batch if possible. Neil

The right scope makes quite a difference as you have seen Ian. Best of luck. The only down side to an add with a laser is you have to hold it upward when lite rather than have the barrel pointing at the ground. Tis ok until it rains. Neil

Hi Mike A polite call to firearms department often helps. They can usually track your case to where you are at in the scheme of things and put your mind at rest. Earlier this year a changeover to a new nationwide computer system put a right spanner in the works. I've had paper work sitting in the applications pile before when it was a just a variation. Staff sickness also comes into play, and I've never heard of an over staffed firearms dept for taking up the slack so to speak. Neil

Hi, the Diana 70 series were made in Motherwell by Milbro. From memory it might be a G74 model. Does it have a brass liner in the barrel, I think they were made both rifled and smooth bore, though smoothbore comes to mind. Trying to remember from a leaflet of the series which as a kid you would look at for days, weeks before being escorted to the gun shop with pater . I had a G77 from the same period when I was a lad, around about 1970.

Hi Ian I've used a swat 4-16 on my rf. Also stuck it on a 10x menace. Using a rapid with a 4-12 trophy. Not as good as the first two but still useable. I looked through one stuck on a swat 3-12x44 which was also good. There was a list at some point on the bbs for compatible scopes. I'm sure the viper wil be good too. Found it .List is on pg3, reply no. 45 of the link. http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread...MPATIBLE+SCOPES Neil

I got one for my sako as I wanted to keep the full length barrel without adding to much length. As above I believe they are only available through the shop now and the price has gone up a smidge. But hey compared to a pes they are still a bargain.

Had a five shot for a few years prior to them going on ticket, never any problem. Very quick to cycle. Easy to clean. Neil -
Was there not a Shepard scope with a fandango ret which claimed to be zeroed with one shot. Confused me too. http://www.shepherdscopes.com/oneshot.asp

No problem Luke we use solvents at work to. Just did not want you sniffing the toluene if you did not know better. I'm sure some of the commercial brands have a xylene component e.g Hoppes BR by the niff. There's probably a msds on the web somewhere. Neil
-
As above jsb variants will give a good bc down range.
-
I use a plastic coated steel trace pull through, napier cloth and wd40. If you have plastic seals or o rings I would avoid the solvents you have listed, toluene being the most hazardous healthwise. Neil

An over barrel DM80, a lot cheaper than some and very good, infact as good as my over barrel PES. http://www.decoying.co.uk/?page=show-item&item=628 Neil -
The LW tubes seem to be less pellet fussy at speed, though keep an eye on groups sizes as barrel fouling can be an issue. Running a mk11 rapid at 960 with fx's(jsb variant). It's nice and flat zeroed at 50yds, and fills the gap where rf is a liabilty and 12ftlb is too stretched. Not keen on barracudas at 30ftlb myself, but some swear by them.

Hi Rooster yep tis a sirroco with a long series silencer and HE as you say. A bargain at the money would be tempted myself, would look good in the collection. TB 8182 made in March 1994, about the last year of that model of Sirroco before it was revamped to the Taunus iirc. Neil
-
Hi Rooster, the very early models had a sloping back at the rear of the cylinder, the later ones are vertical. Where is the safety catch if it has one. The serial number is engraver on the underside of the barrel breech block btw. Re reading your thread properly as it's an HE model then it will be later than 1991. The last model sirocco was the sirocco 2000 usually identifiable by the full length transporter silencer. Neil
-
There are quite a few Sirocco models made. The earliest had Webley barrels which were later changed to Anschutz. They can be dated from the serial number. Production started in 82/83.The ram pressure was increased when the HE (High efficiency) models came out. Check the shrader valve cover screw for screwdriver abuse. This may indicate a tinkerer and possibly the rifle has been pumped or is leaking. A quick run over the chrono will give a true indication of its power. A few of the models would be off the top of my head: S

Thanks for the info but I''ll stick with Ben and Sam.

I would'nt like to say who developed the first regs for pcp's Donny, but they have been about since at least '87 when a certain chappy (Mike wade) had one on his hand built pcp to my knowledge. Other names that spring to mind would be Barry Mcgraw and Mike Dawes in the early days.

Loads of info on the airgun bbs. The standard is around 30ftlb with bisley mags. As your in the area, Ben Taylor and son at harston knows more than anyone about Rapids. Any more info you can mail me. Neil
