  1. Is your dog on an anti histamine course? Ive been bitten by a few nasties over the yrs Taipan included and a few rattlesnake species,occupational hazard lol. The swelling is coursed by the haemotoxic venom,should go down soon.Dogs can be given Vipera berus antivenin but in this case it would be unwise to administer it. Just a note for any one else, especialy state side on this forum ,is that when vets treat for snake bite they tend to give a lower dose of antivenin for dogs,this is not the case,they need higher doses than humans,get them to call the nearest poisons unit for advice, rega

  5. Cheers [bANNED TEXT], shes unreal for her age, had her since a pup,if not id never beleive she was 13,I say retired, I havent worked her for 3 years but she still drags down the odd bunny when the situation falls in her lap.Just wish I,d bred from her yrs ago.

  10. Is there anything you can dig out with a terrier in Spain? Ha ha, the grounds a bit hard..., fox "zorro" where i live are pretty rare, il have a word with some chaps and see what they do regarding digging..
  11. podenco are exellent workers from what ive seen, there is a lot of x's but the pure podenco is used mainly for flushing and rabbit, my bank manager runs 4 on wild boar, incredibly intelligent and quick.. Il try and dig out some pics..
  12. I live in malaga province, ive seen lots worked as bushing dogs alongside podenco's, il try and get some pics.

  14. Ive seen em fetch 300 euro in Andalucia, its crazy, have to be rabies vacinated and microchipped but even so 300 euro

Same topic but slightly different. few years ago, whilst working at a well known zoo, we had 13 humbolts penguins killed over night, so we erected a very secure electrified fencing system, so much so we called the enclosure Stalag luft. all was good for months, absolutly impenetrable. or so we thought. One heavy frosty night and old charlie simply walked over the frozen pool and killed another 13. 26 grands worth of birds Shoot them. They will get in at some point Just my tuppence worth

Ive used tattoo goo, on wounds , it works ok, other wise look up a product called swat keeps it clean and kills flies on contact.. tattoo goo is available from all tattoo shops, Swat is only from the states so youl have to import it. Has any one have any experiance with this terrier, Ive used them for the last 3 yrs on rats and coypu. they look like a smooth haired fox terrier type, never seen such a devoted terrier, they respond to the whistle as well as any pointer. fear less and the recall are exellent, are there any in the uk?
  18. hi, Sorry for the late reply, its hard to get to pc where I live. The jrt types here are known as "raza andalucia" Basicly they are a typycle jack shape but with longer legs, exellent ratting dogs but not built to go under.I need a high white bitch becuase of the long scrub cover here , bloody dogs become invisible lol. I will be driving back to the uk in august so no rush, any pics of pups nearer the time would be great. I will of course pay for all rabies vacinanations and chip before hand.   20. Any one from the andalucia region on this forum? I plan to move to spain in march, will take my proven JRT and saluki with me, any advice on the pro's and cons appreciated. worried abourt the chain catterpilla and Buthid scorpions!!! phil
