  1. Welcome to THL :welcomeani: Could I take a stab in the dark guess at your proffesion.....
  2. Is the lump mobile or fixed. If its mobile it will be a fatty lump.. If it isnt it could be something else..
  3. Does she have a face like a trod on chip as she shouts it i normally do when i am displeased You all do Kay.. its in the genetics..
  4. I have injected deadbait with mackeral oil...it seeps out in the swin, probably does the same as is mentioned here..
  5. Were you told it is the injection pump, rather than the fuel pump? If it is a mechanical fuel pump, and as you say, it can be made to work by manually operating it, could it be the cam lobe that has worn out that drives it, or the cam follower onthe pump. If this is the case, you may be able to bypass the mechanical fuel pump and put an electrical fuel pump in?? If it is the injector pump, Scrap yard maybe a source? Matt
  6. Can I get a trial, the wifes been emptying my traps this week, that might be just what i'm looking for.. "Hey honey, look what's in the garden. a poor trapped little squiggle... here let me hold the torch for you" he..he..he..
  7. Well that was the full monty Rolfe..cheers bud.. I had wondered whether my lack of succes was due to me handling the ferts prior to putting the trap out, but they have been out for two weeks now, with just 2 squigs and a blackbird.. I know we have had activity because of snow recently. But I will leave them out as you have advised and see how i get on..
  8. Simple and to the point..I like it edited to add.. I had forgotton that I had actually tried carrot last year with out succes... I may retry it though.
  9. Just a quick question. Trapping is not realy my thing, but i dabble with my live traps in senstive areas like freinds gardens, our orchard etc. I always used to use apple as bait, but it seems to have stopped working, could you advise what else you have had succes on? On another note, can anyone advise suitable puishement for the wife who has let two fecking squirrels out of the traps this week. Suggestions on the back of a postcard please..
  10. Bladetech isnt bad for the lazy ones amongst us..I use it on my cheap, field knives.. It does eat the knife though. Mine cost a tenner.. Sometimes in between sharpen's, i use a steel. I haven't seen one for a while, but the best sharpener i have seen is a ceramic steel.. That was awesome.
  11. Intresitng article Grim... I just wasted 10 mins of my life sharing it with Terry D...never again. In the words of a long departed freind from THL " You gotta love Terry the veggie" My way or the highway.... springs to mind. As for not putting the rabbit out of its missery..never in a million years, it takes seconds. I understand both side of the argument, but it is never something i have considered my self in breach of the law by doing. I dont have a multishot air rifle any longer, but when i first had a rapid seven, they were alway loaded, but carried seperately.
  12. The other thing to add, is if you do physically punish or repremand the dog, it must be done fairly and immediately. Not even a few seconds after. This way the dog now exactly what it is being punished for.. If i need to punish an animal severly, i grab it as hard as i can on the scruff on the neck with the left hand and raise my right hand as if i were going to hit it, but i dont..i almost pick the dog off the floor. Not round the jowls, as this is seen as aggression by the dog, not assertion. Now, all i have to do, is raise my hand, and say no in a certain voice. no grabbing.. I dont
  13. Sounds like a pack hierarchy issue... He feels more important than the child. First thing is not to let him on the settee. Re establish the pack position.. Even if that means locking in a cage in the kitchen..if you have no kennel. But I think alot of people will suggest that it wont work out. The last one i had with this problem, didnt work out.. Thats the problem with rehoaming is you dont always know all of the history.. Our's was PTS for nipping my son on the face. best of luck
  14. Matty you know he was too fast for you! Bladdy things to fast for anything! :showoff: :showoff:
  15. I was sighting in my .243 the other day at a rifle club that a freind (on here) is a member at. We were watching a stoat at 100m going in and out of the butt... Lucky little sod. Didn't bother him at all... We left him be,he was a gorgeous creature and he went about his business with savour... Bouncy wee thing..lol
  16. Shooting in the barrel going well? enjoy anyway....
  17. Any of the Fen Drains... Grew up on them, spent years enjoying them... Perch, pike, carp, eels, roach, tench, bream, rudd, dace, zander....
  18. as simply as i can put it for you ...No Matt

  20. That is just shit.. Happy fecking xmas eh?? I'm so sorry, i can imagine how your mate is feeling, not 1 hour ago i was sat on the settee with me lad having a cuddle and putting the world to rights (a little reality check you know, reminding me why i work so hard etc) If that ended tomorrow.....welll life changes .... It means nothing, but please tell him our thoughts are with him..
  21. Just remember when you mount you gun, bring the cheek piece up to the cheek, dont mount the gun then move your cheek down to suit its position.... Does that make sense? (maybe someone can put that in english for you)??
  22. One of my colleagues, is just getting rid of his McNab for reliability issues, He is trading it against a silver Pigeon, after looking at the build quality on mine.. I'm sure there are good and bad in all brands though..
