  1. I would just like to thank you all for your generous offers of help, the ones I have agreed to take out please get in touch as the does are ready to drop their young we had today so its about done. I will be offering more days next season, and hopefully get some experienced guys to bring along a novice, a sort of school of ferreting. Once again thank you all. Steve Here is a pic from today

  5. It's the crack, who cares about a bit of mud and digging, we really enjoy what we do, if we didn't we wouldn't do it.

  7. Might get 2 weeks out of it, plenty in kit but not come across any in warrens yet. A long way to come! but your welcome anytime.
  8. I was just clicking through some pics from the field when I came across this one, I remember the day well. It's funny how sometimes they just will not bolt, just an average day but the spade gets a bit more use. It was one of those days when every other one was a dig, well I suppose its healthy and keeps you fit. Here are Ray and Shaun finishing off after I knackered myself out digging through rocks and roots, some say wait for the ferret but it's pointless leaving meat behind when you have a spade. This answers the topic on here about locators or not, I would never go without one these days
  9. No worries mate hope she will be ok. Drop me a line whenever you fancy a mouch.

  15. Hi guys I could do with some help ferreting before its too late to go, I have lots of farms to get around and struggling on my own. The farms are heaving with rabbits, some easy warrens some in hedgerows and dykes but guaranteed action. We normally get 50+ on an outing and good sized rabbits too. Anyone fancy it let me know, couple of the farms I cant take running dogs, terriers only I'm affraid. I just need sensible people I can trust with gear and good knowledge of ferreting and not scared to get stuck in, sorry its too late for taking novices but more than welcome next season. Its Lincol
  16. Had the same trouble with the snow mate, it started at 6.30 and we had a light covering. Some mates came down from sheffield and after 1 1/2 hours it had put 4 inches down, we couldnt see the holes, nets or each other at one bit it was a total white out. With the roads getting dangerous I suggested they went back home for safety reasons. What a blow, got so much to get round, I really could do with some help if anyone interested, plenty of activity guaranteed. Trouble is one of the farms I need to go on I cant take running dogs, terriers only. Planning on wed, thurs or friday, fancy a bash le
  17. Forgot to add wherever you shoot, be safe!
  18. Hi I use both, why dont you apply for both? The .22 is ideal for the shorter range at 70-80yds its head shot every time, the subs are very quiet and picking rabbits off at the side of each other is so easy, i have shot 5 or 6 before they realise whats happening. When it comes to the .17, its much more expensive at 20p+ per shot as apposed to peanuts for .22 subs. However the killing power and accuracy at distance is unrivaled with the .17 I often shoot rabbits at 200yds with the .17 but 120-150yds better for clean shots, if the cross is on it its dead. The .17 will make a mess of the rabbit a
