But come on a lurcher that pisses of for two hours I let every dog iv had run with my own dogs after 3 days and they come back with a bit of coxing and iv had some real timmid saluki lurchers.
  3. I doubt theres any working airdales in england if so what kind of work? what do you think the airdale fetchs to the table work wise in that young red dog mate? If it was a bull deerhound greyhound wouldnt it be better? im not having a go just wonder why peopl use the unusualls when theres proven alternatives. Thanks
  4. c.n is a clever man at his job and them pups will be as good as any breed. I WOULD NOT GIVE £500 FOR A COURSING PUP ANYMORE. Im affraid the matching jobs finnished. I live were hares and coursers where every where you couldnt go in the country side 10 to 15 years ago with out seeing 10 to 20 fellas in a line walking feilds or see the saburus parked out side the cafe on a saturday morning all meeting at the start of a bet. Iv been on permission and had the helicopter up 5 times in the last 12 months its a totalie over the top crack down on illegal lurcher coursing. I lamp and ferret
  5. Look at the bunny baby in that picture . It was born over a month ago. Then factor in that a doe is pregnant for a month . That means that little scuttler was concieved around Halloween . This is quite normal as there is a lull in breeding during the hotter ,longer days of summer and a brief flurry of sexual activity (usually involving the older bucks ) as the days shorten in autumn. Rabbits are triggered into breeding cycles to some extent by daylight levels .Onc e the winter equinox has passed they become more frisky. The recent laying snow by reflecting light and effectively extendin
  6. I had it once and after a phone call from my dear old uncles my dogs got dropped off at the police station in the end. Im affraid if youv got no connection to travellers youv got very little chance of getting dogs back. Its totallie wrong but its how it is and to be honest a even a few travellers lose dogs and cant get them back. theres good and bad in all walks of life. didnt read all the thread but if youv got the gaskins on your side your 100% better off. good luck and hope your dogs end up back were they belong.
  7. ok sory i faught you were old enuff to hold a matoor convetion obvioly not fetch your cobby little dogs down. once theve been pulled around by the hares and rabbits down here. ill punch you all round the feild and then will have a spelling test if you want sh*t trousers. What the feck is this all about!! Jesus, we are talking about a book here. Never have i seen a fight over a book.. And to start calling peoples dogs, "which you have never seen" is out of order pal. Its a forum and he's aloud an opinion... Had this said to me before many times on here.. And really nobody g

  10. i wouldnt say that just because he has wrote a few books and "knows his dogs" he is a legend  we could all write a book but most prefer to keep it to themselves  I think its more than a few stewie, lol... A footballer who scores a few goals can become a legend, so why take it away from the guy who said it, if thats what he wants, then so be it.. You say you could write a book, lol. maybe so, and yes people do keep it to themselves but if books werent wrote, how would you and i and others learn. I used to love reading about dogs, fishing, birds, football, et
  11. my brothers a champion boxer and he certainlie couldnt wright a book! excellent point that hey silly bollox.

  14. when i gave it to my old coursing bitch her front legs swelled like elephents legs when ever it happened i could garantee some one had given her pork thed go down in a day but there was certainly something in the pork. have you ever seen pork flavour ped chum? there only ferrets on the other hand you could chance it your call. or as a last resort Why not chuck it at your locall mosque save wasting them? ! should stay on here for at least 10 mins that.
  15. just look on an old thread about it. iv got one but whats point keep asking and answering the same old questions.
  16. was going out see forcast and didnt bother nothing worse than getting to land and its covered in fog were I course in the day it gathers terreible in the dips even when its o.k in other places.
  17. I raised an orphan kit on goats milk once had her for years after.
  18. you need a bit of luck when breeding coursing dogs, if that buddys genes click with what youv got your laugthing if not could be rubbish. thats why nuttal has had what he has, he knows what to put to what. good luck and hope you end up with hare killers. And by time there of age, coursings legal once again.
  19. why not read what I asked properlie ? ! ! Im not moanig about bedlingtons as the base blood at all. Yes it probablie does applie to most whirrers compared to a good game whippet too. but if you make a question to broard you never find the answers your looking for. the lad with the hare in the picture hasnt got a bed whippet probablie why it caught it im just purly talking about breeding a first cross. If I wanted a 20 inch or smaller dog just for rabbit Id get a whippet myself.
  20. hello all. new to ferreting with long nets. Im borrowing a quick set at the mo which ounce it is im not sure and nore is the fella who got it as hes had it a while. Iv decided to buy my own and on asking the fella at brin nets he said the 4s hold the best but can cut the weebing between a lurchers toes if it gets caught in them. have people found this? and do the 4s catch a lot more snags? in my situation what would you go for? thank you
  21. I never said that last statement about food space ground and yapping. hows that been changed ( mods ) to look that way. thats a bit dodgie someone can do that!! not right. I said that
  22. Thats how I have found them in the past yappy and a bit slow. My own lurchers coat used to became useless in the wet. I still think the same about them having taken peoples veiws on board. I do see them as being use full but really more as a dog in a breeding program. Iv seen some excellent dogs produced my mates Dog is the most game dog Iv ever seen and im sure this is down to his bed whippet dam but has a bit more about him due to his saluki greyhound father. Theres plenty of terreir boys can vouch for "Niger" at 21 inches pound for pound he takes some beating. !
  23. I see what your saying but the greyhounds the speed input. sure they dont work as such but most track greyhonds are strong and game and if you got a hurdle dog thats a bit nasty and firey im sure hed over welm a dog fox with ease.
  24. thats rubbish about farmers and permission. Iv got more permission than I can do and I run a saluki lurcher (illegal hare courser side kick) if they dont like it I wont be doing there ferreting. They have me cause my dogs sensible and can do its job. A whippet would be looked on better than any lurcher by a nieve farmer FACT.
