  1. I've been trying for days to get a half decent pic of him, but he is much more skittish than the female...
  2. Mine was in 1994 - Bright Orange Vauxhall Chevette LGL 43OX, and I paid £150 for it Insurance was TPFT and it cost me £400!!

  4. Hey guys and gals... Just a quick note to let you know that This Sunday morning, the "Buy it Now" option will be removed from the main forum page. If you would like a calendar, but still haven't got around to buying one, then please do so - there are about ten left. Any remaining calendars are being listed on ebay, and hopefully in the next week or so, I will be able to round up monies and bring this to a close. Thanks all for your continuing support Toni
  5. Ahem..... "Lady" actually  and yeah, I do consider myself lucky - I live in a lovely hamlet with some awsome habitats, so I get to see a huge variety of wildlife
  6. Tis TM, He is actually a she. Whoops Must study my bird book more closely
  7. I've only seen one about once a year till this year! This chap seems really happy to be up close and personal with us humans!! He's actually more bold than any of the birds that come to the window ledge.
  8. Bold as brass this little beaut! Loves sunflower seeds!
  9. Fresh air does you the world of good Glad you are up and about x
  10. Nope - my feeders are covered this morning, even saw the Bull Finch who I only get to see about once a year. I would stick to your guns with your other food, but maybe just include some brown bread in your selection.... Remember to provide a water source for them too... I've been defrosting and refilling my bird bath nearly every day for about 2 weeks now!!
  11. Our sled's... Two old body boards and a skipping rope. Cost ... Nothing - Kid's ... Chuffed
  12. Why on earth dont you just go out with your mates more? Sounds like an ideal scenario to me, get your mate to teach you all the hands on stuff... take you back to see the weighing, feeding etc... then when you have saved enough money and can PROVE to your Mum that you'll make an excellent falconer, take her along to see you work... let her see your passion... and you will gain alot of respect as well as a hawk! As a Mum myself I would much rather see my kids taking interest in anything that doesn't involve hanging around drinking cider in the park and getting into trouble... Maybe remind
  13. Thank's ... Its an old Olympus - E300... 8mp. The lens is a zuiko 40 - 150mm ... and quite frankly I've barely a clue how to use it, and any shots I take are pure luck! Enroling on a photography course has been on my wish list for a few years now!
  14. is it you with the deerhounds? Farlap took the pictures and edited accordingly quite brilliantly too... The pic is of me . . . . . . I'm the fury grey one on the right
  15. I'm just finishing some 2 year old sloe Gin, and my god it is sooo worth saving! I had some at one year which was nice, but two is an amazing difference... it seems to loose its cough medicine likeness and gains a port like finish. I'd never touch my sloe gin under one year old... its a bit like a savings investment
  16. Crumbs... how much frost/ice can they take?
  17. how do i run down bones , i have a freezer full of lamb bones will they do Pop them in a low to medium heat oven in a roasting dish, and juices will run out - as it does when you roast a joint. Put it into a bowl in the fridge to set, and the fat will be ontop, nice and hard so you can scrape it off... Underneath will be the jellyish bit. My dogs get that. I think lamb fat might be a bit too soft - but you could give it a go?
  18. I'll take the last 12 I'll send you the money request
  19. Brilliant tip thankyou, I'll remember that! They are still a bit spooky at the mo, as its only been out there a few days, but Robins do tend to be braver than most garden birds dont they?... so I will keep trying
  20. Excellent Idea!! Kay, for the fat cakes I run down beef bones - then just add the normal mixed seed and add some niger too
