  1. ... or three lol Thanks Geoff, I will be happier in a weeks time, when its still fit and well - I can relax then Thanks everyone - I hope I have clawed back some good karma out of this... make up for when I was a bad Tis TM lol
  2. thanks.. and well done on the ltt.. Thank you
  3. Here's the Tit of the moment!! Its been peeing down all morning, and the window I'm taking the pic's through need a damn good clean, hence the poor quality, but I think you can see that the eyeball (although a little dull) looks intact. I would have thought its having trouble blinking with its eye lids still out of shape and swollen, give it another few days, I hope that will right itself.] It's SO active today, and although still looking a little ruffled, I "think" it looks promising Thanks again for all your kind support people
  4. Cheers bro, dont want to celebrate prematurely but I am happy
  5. Yeah, I dont think those little birds can possibly have a huge amount of blood in them to start with... The tick had far more than its fair share... no wonder the little thing has been going down hill.
  6. Hehehe tell me about it, I was nearly sick at the thought of having to pull the tick out when I finally caught it.... then worried sick that I might have only helped put a nail in its coffin lol I was shaking after I let it go again lol Just waiting for it to brighten up a bit and I'll get some more pictures, it does seem to be alot more active this morning
  7. Well - Its made it through the night!!! Thanks for all your lovely comments, I haven't slept half the night for thinking about it. I guess further infection is the only thing that could get it now, but from what I have seen this morning, its looking fairly clean Its eye lid is a bit out of shape, but when the swelling goes down it should hopefully go back to normal. Thanks again guys Toni
  8. Looked out for my little mate all morning, and not a sight. It eventually turned up in the blustery wind, with its mate, but looking really worse for wear. It's eye seemed to be full of bloody gunk... no eye ball showing at all, and it spent most of the time fluffed up on a branch. I managed to grab a couple of photo's but not great ones as the wind is blowing everything to hell and back here today. This first pic is how it spent most of the day: Next pic, bit blurry but you can see the extent of the damage the tick had done Cutting a long story short, It started to turn dusk
  9. Well done - I have just baited up the larsens... ready n waiting
  10. It kind of draws you down the line of tree's into the picture doesn't it? Mysterious & provoking like
  11. Not to worry Tis it"ll fall off in a few more days. Hopefully with little damage to its eye... how long do they normally last? I'm guessing its been there for about 2 weeks.
  12. Well, they were here tucking into the fat balls long after the other birds had gone to roost, just goes to show they must be struggling... I wont let they're supply run out anyway, and tomorrow I'm going to put a hanging plate out for the one that cant grip with its poorly foot.
  13. I hope so too... They are one of only two visiting pairs so I'd miss them
  14. They're lovely!!! I like the wood shot myself ... bit of a tree fan
  15. Bit of a job to get a decent picture today as the weather has been so bad... I dont know how this little chap is still going and to top it all his mate has hurt its foot and cant balance or grip very well, they both look such a sorry sight at the moment! Doubt they stand much chance of building a decent nest and rearing a brood this year... I thought at least one of them would have gone missing by now actually. Any way, here's that wretched tick today, 12 days on from the first time I got a shot of it...

    hmmmmm

I have the Aerosmith album - "Pump" Love the Verve
  17. Hey up... If there was a way of getting a "suitably trained" person to come and do it I would ... I see you can become a trained "ringer" but I dont know if that would give you the right to be able to carry out such a mission... I hope the tick will have its fill and fook off very soon! The tit is paired up and I guess will be in full flow nest building, Ha! Little mite must know its being spoken about... its just come and looked through the window at me!! Tick is still there I suppose this will make the tit easy prey now with its vision so impaired
  18. It cant be very comfortable no ... I saw it briefly today and the tick is bigger still, but amazingly the birds eye still looks healthy... It must be just under the lid or something
  19. Thanks Dotty Had an email back this morning - alot quicker than I expected! You were right on the BTO and TRING bit Darcy... I have sent him some more info, but this was his mail any way: Dear Toni, Thank you very much for your report on this bird. I have had a look at your great photos and it looks like the ring probably says BTO Tring England ...399... This size of ring should have 6 digits all together. We have all the information here at the BTO with reference to the ringing details of birds but it is not possible to get the full history electronically at the moment. Coul
  20. Yeah I reckon BTO is a fair shout, I've been scouring the BTO site for a list of registered codes to no avail, hoping to get an email bak from them tomorrow to fill in the blanks
  21. Thank you - funnily enough I have just emailed the BTO, and sent the pic to them too.... I really want to know where this little fella comes from now
  22. I think its England... and the word at the top, Trial possibly... We are a fair way from Glamorgan... do these birds travel long distances?
  23. My usual visitor was looking a little under the weather, didn't notice the small tick till after the pic was put up on the screen... Taken 20.3.10 Been watching him/her quite closely... Taken 27.3.10 Haven't seen it now for a good few days, hoping its ok... bloody horrible parasites Is there any information I can glean from this small snippet of the leg ring?
