  5. If and that is a very big IF you have a good ferret it will be a good ferret in it's 1st working season and it will remain a good ferret for many years. Some are fair in the first year and very quickly become killers,, not good. A lot of ferrets will never be any good. Different folk have different ideas on what a good ferret is so there should be different opinions on this one. This is mine, for what it is worth.P1
  6. I would imagine that he would have got a home for at least 1 (the 1 he's keeping) It don't mater what you do mate or what order you do it in someone will find fault on here. Good luck with the pups mate P1 i wasnt picking / finding faults , i even praised and said a cracking litter will be produced from sire and dam , i was curious , so dont be one to jump on the band wagon I didn't say YOU where mate read other posts If you can't see the truth in your own.

  8. I just thought I would but in and ad that I sold the bitch to Alan a few months ago as I could not give her the work she deserved.Looking at that picture I can see the bitch is in tip top condition and a credit to you Alan but I am sad to see her for sale. All I will ad is this is a flying machine.Good luck P1
  9. YEA THEY GOT LOADS OF BEDDING , A COMBINATION OF STRAW AND SHREDDED NEWSPAPER. I HAVENT MADE ANY ATTEMPTS TO HANDLE THEM JUST LEFT THEM ALL TOO IT . I HAVE NOTICED THERE IS A MONSTER . THE KITTS FROM BOTH LITTERS ARE ROUGHLY SAME SIZE ,PINKISH SKIN WITH FINE WHITE FUR , EXCEPT ONE ITS QUITE LITERARLY TWICE THE SIZE AND GREY BLACK . IS THIS NORMAL ? I COULD MAYBE GET A PIC LATER ON . You can only guess at what the color will be just yet.It is unusual that you have a very large one. One will normally stand out as being smaller than the rest,I always start to handle at about 3 weeks by
  10. A shame you live so far away mate £5 or free for ferret a hob would be better if you only want 1, but pm me your address and I've got a few nets you can have.
  11. Pleased for you mate.A ferret as small as it is is no push over.
  12. Put a live cage trap under or near the cage if she doesn't come back she will have been picked up so ask around. It would take a bloody good cat to kill a ferret so unlikely.I would recommend that you start feeding your kits good meat rabbit or/and chicken good luck.P1
  13. Make sure they got plenty of bedding mate. Its nice to be able to see them but they should be covered to keep them worm.As already said a bit of rabbit to suck on wont heart.P1
  14. Get a book and start reading.
  15. Probably because he kept looking at them and messing with them instead of leaving them well alone until they finished having their young.I could be wrong but that is the usual reason.P1
  16. Made out of brush handles mate and will last a long time. The only thing I found wrong with them was if the lurcher hit them at full speed they did tend to break, so to compensate I lowered them to 17" when set so at top speed the lurcher just steps over. All my quick sets are 14" high and never had a bunny go over the top(before all the experts start). P1 Forgot to add Traditional.
  17. Changed over to quick set so my poles are surplus to requirement. Have served me for many years so good working home essential. Prefer to go pretty local for pick up only.Berkshire area. 36 altogether £2 each or WHU.
  18. I think you will find that is a buck in full breeding condition
  19. Couldn't get 2 pics on. this is my more resent gun (about 12 years) rapid mk 1 What an air rifle brilliant.Had many air guns over the past 45 years All not much good compaired to this.
  20. I've had this gun many years and it is still in mint condition Webley mk 3.Still doing 10+ft lbs(with new spring a few years ago)

Total 274 Keep adding to total. Lets get a close estimate of how many new homes are needed this year
  22. Well a lot of very good suggestions as to what to do there. In a couple of months your jills will be out of season anyway so why not leave them.Just keep them clean and they will be fine. This will give you a chance to PLAN AHEAD for next season.
  23. Good answer, Para, mine are looking very thin at the momment, but they looked the same last year so i haven't been concerned this year. They are eating and drinking ok and have plenty of life in them so i don't see the need to worry. They'll be looking good come hunting time, and hopefully working good too. I must admit that I do prefer the way they look this time of year. The way they run to great you with their feet on the front of the cage looking for trouble.
  24. Put a picture up mate lets have a look at her.A lot of jills look very thin this time of year on top of hormone problems(for want of a better word)they are moulting.
