  2. Lucky enough to see one in John O groats mate while out stalking reds years back .Stalker had them in the bothy roof raising kits .
  3. I know mate .I have a channel but it’s a ball ache isn’t it .
  4. Show me yours mate .Your the one wanting to prove something .I’m merely suggesting what’s on Google .None of us are really qualified to state categorically anything beyond Google and books . Im with you on your last sentence mate .
  5. Anyway saw another otter very close today and got some video off a fishing stage .Pity this forum dosnt support short vids like others do .
  6. I totally agree with what your saying mate .All we need now are the balls to deal with it ?
  7. Why not invite some else Paul .Hate to think someone who may see things different might miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime . Basc do not make laws,Basc do not enforce laws ,neither does any other shooting org . Any incident would purely be a police and landowner matter . Something that isn’t on our list of naturalised fauna has no protection under our laws only it’s welfare . If it was in line with livestock protection there’s not a thing anyone could do . You yourself have stated this …..” “ Im fully aware cats have been shot in the past and t
  8. Ask your feo mate .Mines more of a personal friend than in an official capacity . His thinking is if it dosnt exist here officially how can you be prosecuted for it .I’d stick by it anyway .
  9. And would it be conjecture to say all that’s guess work too Paul . At some point something evolved into birds from reptile like creatures .
  10. Thank you monk fish you are right .Bloody predictive on the phone .It’s a good job I’ve a secretary like you bud .
  11. Paul ,you are fairly educated mate .Most reptiles reside in places where winter is just a few degrees less than summer and we would hardly know the difference .When did you last hear of snow in the Amazon ? Flying reptiles of today is a bit of a misdemeanour in that they glide rather than flap but flight is still flight no matter the mechanics

  13. Lackham college near me had a raccoon free for three weeks apparently if a remember correctly .It was live trapped near a pheasant pen on the estate in a fox trap none the worst for its freedom .
  14. What would be your thoughts on an established population of raccoons Chris . Do you think they would act like their American cousins and raid bins etc or do you think they would find a niche in the wild ,given it would take years for them to establish . That article I put up with the women in Portsmouth shows the potential for animal rights to set free a decent amount .Most would be caught but like the mink ,some would stay free .
  15. Tis a two way street mate .You lads seem fine with someone lighting the touch paper and walking away but for me there has to be more to it . If I name drop it’s only because he seems to be the only one who has anything to say on the matter .Just because I name him dosnt mean it’s a dig either . If I said there were koatis living wild in Wiltshire would you want a bit more background or would just pass it up as gospel . An enquiring mind is just that mate ,can’t be stopped nor stifled .
  16. Does GM mean there are 5000 raccoons kept as pets as wild in the uk is just ludicrous .
  17. Exotic pets 'endanger' UK wildlife WWW.BBC.CO.UK Experts say non-native species settling in Britain, often initially as pets, are endangering our own native species.
  18. 'I have never seen anything quite like it before' WWW.BBC.CO.UK The fox frequently visits the garden of Faroz and his daughter Sophia, who initially thought it was a wolf.
  19. Morning Francie ,how’s you today mate .Tis a beautiful day .Got the bloody dentist at 10 then on a roof this afternoon helping out the son in law fitting log burner . Back to the case in mind …. Ive read a fair but on the subject mate and it seems more than accepted it’s the transition from reptile to bird in that fossil . Like you say mate ,you have your views ,I have mine and never the Twain shall meet ? I like what you did with the set in stone bit ,class .
  20. According to my FEO mate ,if it’s not officially on the quarry list or an accepted naturalised species you would be doing the country a service by shooting it .Goes for ,dare I say it cats as well . I enquired after reading we have 1000 large felines at large ?.FEO had a chuckle too . Any pics or vids of actual raccoons going about their daily business in the uk or are we going to see another wall of conspiracy and lies . Ive seen them in Florida during the day and night and they appear to have no inbuilt fear of man . I think GM commented on the number but has yet to rega
