Very true mate .Let's be honest here ,there's not an awful lot to the game once you've got the right animals and gear .It's just a matter of applying that knowledge to different situations. Filling in behind dog ,digging beneath a tunnel to follow it if the need arises and starting big enough from the outset of a dig are all skills learnt but not many seem to remember or use those skills I've noticed and are best avoided .

SO , what about the stopping days. Would you say it requires a lot ? He is likely another who cannot get his hands on this great family of dogs. Thats something I'm familiar with by the way. In fact they were in the same town as I live in. And serious terriers too..and for Tallywacker, not just dogs either. I think you twigged mate but what im saying is NS stuff was doing the Welsh hill foxes before your time ,which in turn leads full swing to your jibe at easy sourthern foxes .We have some ball breakers here make no mistake but Mr S would never enter a terrier for reasons of his own .Few of us bumkins were left to mop up what he didnt want to know and he rode on to keep up with hounds .

Any hill fox not just Wales Compare one of them to a fox in the Duke of Beaufort country and there's a massive difference. Obviously there's good foxes in the DOB country too but mainly the ones I seen when invited there i could dig with my 13 year old fat Russel.[/quote) When you come here mate they make allowances for you sensitive Welsh types .All the best are kept back for us carrot crunchers to see at their best. As far as I'm concerned I've no need for any dog that won't stay in a soil earth ,the rest are for another lifetime .I'd like to think any dog I have would stay with a fox regardless what's over its back though . Hunt days require a different animal,we are all agreed, to those of us that require a stay all day type .Most pros breed to the staying type with the few that don't make the grade becoming the bolting ,hunt day terriers .Some outside of hunting and a few within seem to value these terriers and breed from them ,hammering nails in the type which is then sometimes peddled as the real th
