Since man first came down from the trees ( or beamed down if your Francie ) the odds have always been in our favour regarding hunting .Hunting was for food so a necessity .That gene hasn’t gone away for those on here that actually hunt .Fairness has never entered the equation for food harvesting or pest control .

The question has to be why film it .Bragging rights are a complete turn off for me ,we all know who does what and what their dogs do ,the filming is totally beyond me of something illegal . The badger cull around us has totally decimated numbers .Where I used to see plenty I’m lucky to see one nowadays .If the cull hasn’t reached your area it will and the scale of slaughter is immeasurable .I think the original number was 70% of the population but I’m reliably told that’s to appease the huggers .Total eradication is the policy and implemented in most areas .Shame as I like to watch their

Razor was a dog I named ,picked up direct from D Wheeler late 80’s approx 12 months old . Dont know of any other Razor tbh

Razor was used over many bitches mate but Flys dam was a Nuttal bitch gifted to me by an old gent I used to dig with .He named the bitch Nancy .Nancy ,Peggy and Cassy all Nuttal early stuff bred and kept true by the gent I refer to .Nancy was out of Lilly by Poker ,both owned by N .Dunn the very same gent Sadly gone 12 years now .

Yes mate .Owned several .From rabbit only dogs to all rounders to specialist types .Comes a time when you can’t do it all though and I gave up lurchers in favour of a rifle .Only bred one litter that fell far short of the parents .The little pat bull whippet was the best I had ,she was a mistake breeding to a mates bitch we never knew was in season .Back of the van shag without us seeing . She would go to ground ,lamp all night ,work with the gun and ferrets as well as kill rats with the best of them .They say you only get one good dog in a lifetime but I’ve had two greats ,the little lurche

Think we may be talking about the same thing just different descriptions .The dog that sees anything as fair game is the liability and the owner a worse one .A steady dog to me is one with no dramas not a coward lol .Weve all seen the arse grabbers that shy away from the bitey end ,most will have seen the do or die merchants but the dog that makes it all look smooth without dramas is to me the type I’d best like to keep given my time again .The fact it looks smooth is often overlooked and ignored as it isn’t the drama some wish for .All just my opinion though .

Exactly mate .Ive you’ve travelled a bit or seen enough ,these are the type prized by some of the terriermen I’ve met .Huge initial input followed by stale mate and a gasping dog that needs a week off to do the same next weekend .Not my cup of tea but prized by some .

At Wilf I’m guessing he did it with style rather than brawling mate .Some folk just like to see a fight others want to move on for another .Both types have grit just one has adapted to a better method for dispatch and gets to show its worth rather than stitches and a week off .Know what I’d rather keep .

Opposite mate .You can sicken a full on type very easy but steady is just that .The head case is usually only good for small amounts for a reason ,it is spent ,beat up or both .Give me a steady type all day and night . All very well showing off a full on type and most blokes with same arnt shy of doing that but when the night draws on and that thing is f****d but your steady type is still doing it with style ,which is the better dog ?
