  4. If it has an abbcess it can become quite serious mate, more serious than it allready is. When it eats, and chews on its rabbit , the abbcess could burst and poisen your hob. quite sad i think
  5. Im putting in 2 25meter nets for ferreting, I have 1 more 25mtr net, i just gotta run the head and footlines and attach the poles, When that is done I iwll have 3 x 25mtr longnets in it...

    ferts

I have dug to big buck rabbits that wouldnt even bolt to a Hob. Some rabbits are just stubborn and think they can take there chances with the ferret. It never take long, Hob in.... about 5 minuts bloody face hob out. My small jills just leave those rabbits who bottle, i think becaise that they are in experienced to kill. And do get kicked off, I mainly only dig to Buck rabbits, anyone else notices this? All torn ears ect....
  10. Next time you make your tealer, make the eye (where the snare is attached) Horizontal , make it 2 and a half twists, instead of 1. like this, and have your snare attached like that, the twist unturns and the knot gets pulled to the eye, which makes a swivel. Double knot for you brass, (P.S) Dont take any notice of that snares, its a copper one i made when i didnt have brass. (its shit) lol Good luck champ, im definatley no expert but ive watched the ass end out of woodgas DVD And! before i forget, Dont spin your wire around the shaft like i have in my pic, I have just
  11. 6.5 is a good killing height, has on Woodga dvd
  12. Dont worry, I really enjoyed that post. Diff ppl have different oppinions, but dont worry mate, its good too see how different trap styles are adopted in different countries. i really want to see some of ur stories mate it would help me out
  13. I wish i was in Vic... Mate maybe i can come down for a holliday
  14. I think its the same story with lurchers.... I dont knwo where to start looking
  15. well done, love the look of those terriers
  16. I think its a good price. I think it was 20 dollars for 1lb of brass wire, which makes something like 85 snares??? i think. and eyelets where cheaps as chips But if you get that then you can follow the dvd exactly and have some spot on snares just like woodga;s. They where my thoughts anyways
  17. I know what you mean, It is rather dry here at the moment and rather difficult in finding runs. Many rabbits come out and feed on shrubs and bushes that are growing on dirt. No grass around at all, But the fenceline they come out from has blackberry on it, so i can see where they are coming from.
  18. Coote how is your snaring coming on? Taking any rabbits?
  19. I thought about using it aswell, when i was searching for brass down here. I think being steel it might kink, and thats why they dont use it. Go to www.gameandcountry.info and email them and they will sell you some brass wire for rabbits. Thats what i did, when you think about the work that has gone into experimenting with snares ect... they must use the brass for a reason. I think it would work out cheaper aswell, becayse that welding wire can be rather expensive. still might be fun trying around with it though
  20. it does the same job, it catches the rabbits but would had different factors that are not as good i presume. I seriously wouldnt be able to say anything because i havent used brass. But im sure woodga and all those pro's use brass for a reason. Copper has alot memory and bends easily, It doesnt seem to be as springy either. That snare in that pic, i used this electrical copper wire for lighting and stuff in the house, i stripped it down. It was too thick, that snare is only 3 strand. because the wire is thicker, not the best of snares but it worked
  21. Its a pretty dodgy snare, But i have ordered some Brass and Eyelets and they are on there way from Game and Country supplies
  22. I got an old one, Im waiting till it breaks then i will go the newby. Its a rather hard decision to make however. I could almost get my money back on it. If any of you blokes had a Mk1 would you sell it for a new mk3? Hard decision
  23. Thats awsome, a good looking fox aswell that. You going to skin it?, Keep on with the pics mate
  24. I know what you mean, the old school breeders dont handle the ferrets My first hob was a crazey b*****d and took alot of handling to get him good. I cant wait till i get some kits, and start getting some working lines going. Im sure ppl will be interested in working ferrets, But i will handle these so they are not savage little buggers
