  1. i went out today for a walk with my two 11 month old pups, neither pup had ever been out before but i took a spade and the b&f with me just incase.i found a nice little earth with only one entrance, both pups had a sniff, one was straining on the lead but the other was not interested.i put the collar on chip, and released him from his lead,he steadly tiptoed into the darkness for his first time and started to bay. i tied the other pup to a tree and located chip,0.9 on the box,the baying had stopped and the ground was thumping,so i quickly dug to him,i broke him off his quarry and tied him up

  5. a mate of mine has a patterdale bitch that showed no interest in work at all,she had seen plenty of rats by the time she was 12 months and hadn't tried any of them, between 12 and 19 months she watched digs and still nothing! one day she clicked, now 21 months she has been dug 5 times,up and at it bossing her quarry,so there is hope for your pup yet

  7. Everytime she has come out i have lifted up a net and shes gone back in but come back out if charlie has bossed her, twice i have dug to her the second time was when got stuck, although twenty months she acts puppyish, i am just hoping that with age she will gain a bit of confidence. its your call,if you think she might eventually make it you could put her away till next season and try her then, hopefully she will have matured enough by then, try her a few times and if still no good, call time on her.i would get another puppy to rear in the meantime just incase she doesn't make it,at least you w

  13. shows are ok,good place to meet up with different terriermen for a bit of crack, but thats it,a bit of fun is all it should be,not taken serious and deffinately not worth striving to breed or aquire "smart" type dogs to win! i enjoy them, never had anything smart enough to win anything, but still enjoy them.i now have a smart russell, but dont want to take him to any shows ,just incase i get the show bug!!! ha ha!! work, work work, its all that matters, shows are just to pass the summer!
